Follow notif when people change preferences

Moonzy

as stated in this post,

I think that followers changing follow preferences shouldn't re-send the follow notification to the followed.

ie: FakeKGB followed me days ago, but every time he changes his follow preference (ie, post + SU to SU only), I'll receive a notification as if he followed me again.

alternatively you can bann @FakeKGB because he's the root of all bugs

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

If it did actually send a new one for each individual box, that should probably get fixed.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

No, I only got one notif.

It appears that you get a notif when someone follows or changes their follow preferences.

It's kind of annoying.

I have a habit of getting completely unique tech problems that are usually fixed by a good smack, or are never fixed at all and I just work around them.

Did I mention that no one seems to know that my PC case exists except NewEgg?

I did. I changed preferences one by one. I went from all content to the default only follow option. Saved then added the others one by one.

I have received only one.

However, I didn't receive any other notifs between then.

So I'm pretty sure it just lumped them all together since it was the same thing - this has happened before with threads where I'm following someone who posts there and I don't get any notifs in between.

I had this happen with threads I've followed. 3 notifications or so lumped into one. Open the notification menu and new notifs get a new main notification. If that makes sense.

I wonder...

  • 2 weeks later...

This should be fixed in the next update (though I make not guarantees about it breaking in future).
