Have you tried a different keyboard? And does it still spam commas if you don't have a keyboard plugged in?

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Unplug the keyboard.

You won't be able to type... but I certainly don't mind.

Is there something stuck under the comma key? Have you pulled the cap off to make sure?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Does it persist after a reboot?

If it doesn't, and doesn't come back, probably just a glitch.

If it does, or it comes back: Does it persist if you unplug the keyboard?

If unplugging they keyboard fixes it, try cleaning the keyboard and checking nothing is stuck under the comma key and plug it back in.

If it starts again, your keyboard is likely to be f**ed.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

for now you can unplug the keyboard and use the onscreen keyboard.

You can pull them most likely, but you could break the switch. It could be that the membrane contact got bent or stuck something and it's just registering that you're holding down the ',' key. Also, uhh restarting, hope you have a pin.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

Sure, we can help with that too!

The correct treatment for a nose bleed is to sit down, lean slightly forward, and pinch your nose with your fingers for several minutes. (Yes it sounds stupid; yes it works)

Source: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/nosebleed/

(Yes I know it's the British NHS but these things are largely the same wherever you live)

Edited by pythonmegapixel
I was wrong about exactly where you pinch the nose

No, gravity is different here in the US (all the obese people cause deflections) so you have to lean in a different direction to get the blood to stop properly.
