Y-Splitter Not Working on PC, Mic Does Not Work

I recently bought a JBL Quantum 100 to use on my PC for gaming and for discord, I do not seem to make the microphone work using the splitter and plugging them into the correct pink/green ports. My audio is just fine but the mic does not seem to work whatsoever. I have tried to plug them in on both front and back headphone combos on my PC and it still doesn't work. I have tried using another splitter to no avail. Is there a way I can fix this?

Do you have a 3 pole or 4 pole 3.5mm splitter?

You can tell by the connector which plugs into your PC.

How to Hack a Headphone Jack

A 4 pole plug (also known as TRRS) has three black lines across the plugs, while a 3 pole (TRS) plug only has two lines.

A 4 pole splitter is for microphone + headphone splitting

A 3 pole splitter is just so you have the same sound on two sets of audio outputs (two headphones/two speakers, etc.)

those don't support microphone and headphone audio at the same time. You'd need a 4 pole splitter.

I'm not from the US, so I've never been to a Microcenter, so not sure if they do or don't have such an item.

There are of course a million options on places like Amazon. Example: https://www.amazon.com/MillSO-Headset-Splitter-TRRS-Headphones/dp/B07569QKQQ/

Are you not able to look it up on Micro Center's site.

I don't live in the US...but... here is what I found in the matter of seconds.

Looks like Micro Center has them; $9.99 😁
