I made this resolution comparison picture and its to scale. What do you think? Am I missing any other common resolutions?

11% of steam users use 720p, most at 1366x768.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

So no matter what resolution, the numbers and letters are very clear? They all look 1080P to me lol.

Back in the day 1024 x 768 was pretty nice for gaming XD

this is more for if you were to buy a new monitor with a larger resolution how much more pixels are you getting type of thing, and also to show the different aspect ratios

They do. Most data entry doesn't require anything special.

its more like the 1920x1080 rectangle is exactly 1920x1080 pixels.
so if you where to full screen this picture and go to the top left corner then you would know what resolution your monitor is.

I already know what the resolution is. I figured that part out when I bought it XD.

I recommend changing the color scheme so the image isn't eye searing lol

i made it that color based on the amount of pixels the more pixels the the more red and less green it gets. because it would be harder to drive more pixels.
what color scheme would you recommend?

well ya but you can zoom out for a comparison to see how much more pixels a larger monitor would be.

RIght! It's pretty cool! This is an easy tool for people to use.

I have 4 monitors that are under 1080P (2K).

These monitors can run games and benchmarks.

You could make an entirely new chart with resolutions 720P and below also.

a bunch of these are i think multi monitor set ups. or like OEM laptop panels. I'm more looking for resolutions of just the monitors themselfs. like if I'm shopping for a new monitor.

Most gamers I know (competitive) use more than one monitor..... So a lot of content creators, gamers, Me.... use multiple monitors. It's just super useful imo.

What you have got already is cool. These are only thoughts and ideas. You mold them into whatever you want!

well ya most people use multiple monitors i have 4. This picture is for comparing resolutions of a single monitor.

my set up for example consists of a 2560x1080 and 3 super old 1280x1024 monitors that I got for free.
so if you have a multi monitor set up you have to do the math yourself. because it would be almost impossible to include every posible multi monitor set up.

I think the basic idea is good, it's just that it results in bad contrast and hard to read text in a lot of areas. You should try to improve contrast by using more saturated colors and black/white text for better contrast.

I'm sure you could do better on the transition from green to red in my example, but I think the increased contrast makes the text a lot easier to see and isn't as blinding as the neon-green and full-intensity red as in the original.

Exactly. You're targeting a small segment.

I was picturing you did this purely for the heck of it. Is this going to be a serious tool like freeware or something?

ok i see what you mean about the text but "more saturated colors"? i go from [R 0 G 255 B 0] to [R 255 G 255 B 0] to [R 255. G 0, B 0] i don't see how i can get more saturated than 255

Maybe "saturated" was the wrong word. But full intensity ([255, 0, 0] etc.) colors are usually bad. I'd pick some nice colors from the material table and make sure to use HSV for the transition instead of straight up interpolation.
