i just built a rig, why do i feel like i want a new rig?

matin94

i dunno if its because i love computers, or i dont have "THE BEST" of the bestest in my rig. i mean i got 4770k, getting 780ti (currently on 670), 16gb ram blah blah blah its amazing

anyone else feel like this after building a rig?

i guess i miss the excitement for when you get new parts, and you put it together and shit

there is no purpose for this, just opening this topic for conversation

Build a core 2 duo and give it to the needy, it'll make you feel great!

I still have core 2 duo and found it offensive.

Save up a little bit and get an SSD or another one for RAID. It lets you open the case and fiddle around with things. Also, you can always just work on Cable management.

They are 7 year old chips, in terms of gaming they are teetering on the edge, they will barely run bf4. For internet purposes they will still be very fast and useable for a while to come.

I have an old 7MHz (maybe 8086?) laptop with some kind of DOS 3, and I found this painful.

75mhz laptop would be a Pentium or AMD K5. 8086 would be in the 4.77-12mhz range.

I'm offended that you're offended about hardware you don't know about! :P

Old shit no one cares about but me.

It's an old Sharp laptop. I think it's in the PC-4500 family. Not sure, though. It has 640KB (maxed out) of RAM, and a 20MB HDD.

Not sure if he has edited, but he says 7 MHz, so that would match with the HDD and RAM size.

Yep half the fun with hardware is building. This is why I have a few computers but ive definitely slimmed down from what I once had I just couldnt keep up with more also I didn't really use all of them fully. But you could start doing builds for others as thats just as fun.

Building PCs is addicting... Like an expensive, but legal drug, meant for PC enthusiasts!

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Take your time is the best advice I have. I got frustrated not having a desktop to use for 3 months so I rushed some of the last few cables I sleeved. They don't look horrible but they also don't meet my standards.
