No BSOD, my computer just freezes.

f2bacon

I recently did a fresh install of windows, after 7 years. Now my computer freezes, the entire system. I can close windows but pretty much anything else is unresponsive. I can't see any correlation between what I'm doing and when it happens. It's happened while it was idle, while I was typing, while I was watching a movie, and just a bunch over the past week. I've been sifting through the event viewer and I'm pretty good with computers but this stuff is beyond me. I'll try and post as much as I can.
Specs are
Evga Rtx2080Super with precision x1 OC curve, Ryzen 5 3600 OC'd to 4.5ghz, asus b550m tuf plus gaming, corsair vengeance lpx 32gb (2x16gb). 2 inland premium nvme for storage. nzxt kraken x62 cooler

This happened to me around 1:14pm today so I found what I think might be the culprit, but I'll include my entire event log.

Connectivity state in standby: Disconnected, Reason: NIC compliance

Thanks for absolutely any help. I used to be able to leave my computer on for months and now I worry about idling overnight.

What are the CPU temps?

Under normal use?

Go to the Windows 10 site here and do a Windows 10 upgrade, what that does is reinstall Windows while keeping all of your files, programs etc.

around 38c idle, up to 60c max cause i have a pretty aggressive curve on all of my fans and a push/pull 240mm aio.
i tried some registry edits trying to fix some issues in my event log, hopefully that does it. if it doesn't i might just have to to that windows mini reinstall

I would try that 1st, something could have gone wrong with the Windows install.

I ended up not needing a windows wipe. Event viewer showed me some permission issues that I fixed and it's been a week with no freezing. I'll update if it happens again and if windows refresh fixes it

I checked my event viewer logs, and it would (and still does) randomly have these random "warnings"

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
 and APPID
{15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}

I assume those will be different for other people.

So following forum instructions on those issues, I went into regedit, and found all the entries that were giving me warnings, and what you do for each one is right click the folder
(another for-example, Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}  )  and go to permissions, advanced, where it says "owner: TrustedInstaller" click change. In the bottom text field type in your windows username. Hit OK on all the windows, and go through all the CLSID and APPID errors until you've done that on all the ones that pop up and my computer hasn't frozen since. It's been about a week without any issues nonstop running
