which b550 motherboard to buy for the upcoming ryzens when it will come this year?

for  the  next  zen 4   will create   b650 and x670?? motherboards???

Likely not. They don't really have a reason for more chipsets this time around, so it's likely they'll just keep using the existing B550 and X570.

If there are, it'll likely be released like last gen, with X670 coming out with the new CPUs, and B650 coming out in Q2 2021.

But B550 and X570 will be fine to run the new Ryzen CPUs.

i am confused  now

the b550 designed  for  the  next  next Ryzen processors.?? or  they designed  for  the   3rd gen ??

They don't design a chipset for a processor.

They design processors for a CPU socket, which is socket AM4.  When processors will start to use DDR5 instead of DDR4, we'll need to change cpu socket to AM5 or whatever they'll call it, because physically there are no extra pins / contacts in the cpu socket to go to DDR5 slots.

The chipsets (B550, x570, b450, and so on) are just middle men between your processor and pci-e slots and devices on the motherboard ( onboard sound, network, usb, sata 3 connectors).

This middle man needs some software (the bios) to be able to interact with the processor, to make the connections between the processor and everything... think of this bios like a language.

Each generation of Ryzen processors will know the language, but may "speak" the language with a dialect , like American English vs British English vs Jamaican English and  so on.

The older chipsets know a limited set of dialects and don't have the memory capacity to learn new dialects, that's why AMD says it's very hard for B450 motherboards to support Ryzen 3 processors and they say if they do make it possible for a home user to add support for Ryzen 3, the motherboard may lose support for Ryzen 2 processors.

B550 and x570 chipsets come from the start with just the language for Ryzen 2 processors and plenty of room to learn Ryzen 3 "dialect' when needed, so there's no reason they wouldn't support it. The room for future upgrades was made possibly by losing support for the original Ryzen processors for example, these chipsets no longer speak the Ryzen 1xxx version of the language

FTFY.

Just to clarify again here:

That's what many predict to happen, yes.

There is a chance that AMD will release X670 and B650 but I don't think it's likely. If they do release it, it'll be later in 2021.

AM5 will likely come out in late 2021.

As for what if scenarios,  AMD will launch Ryzen 3 either close to December to make some money off  Christmas sales, or they'll launch stuff somewhere in March.

I don't think they have the inventory to sell a lot of things in September-Octomber and laptop manufacturers are already putting pressure on AMD to give the laptop processors for "back to school" sales.... the amd laptop cpus are very well reviewed and laptop makers didn't expect to be so good.

Yeah, with corona there's uncertainty about actually going to school, but some remote work or having remote meetings for school are a thing, and people need laptops for those.

If there's gonna be new chipsets, the most likely moment will be after USB 4 is standardized and sorted, because that will bring Thunderbolt to everyone, and that requires some significant changes

In my opinion, it's gonna be at least one more year, maybe two until we actually get usb 4 and thunderbolt AND DDR5 in volume, so there's no point waiting and delaying and hoping something new will come up.

The B550 boards in your budget (150 euro  and up) are pretty much all very good, and support even the most power Ryzen that's now available, and will support all Ryzen 3 processors.

These boards are often better than x570 boards, because they have 2.5g ethernet or wifi6 which was something much newer  when x570 boards were being designed and maybe manufacturers didn't rush to implement them. Some x570 boards also went cheap on audio (for example choosing ALC1200 instead of ALC1220) just to add a couple more pointless phases on the VRM to win at benchmarks (for example see x570 Aorus Elite with 12 phases when even 10 were enough for it)
