Help me decide which of these 3 PSU

Yoshimitsu

Heyo

After extensive research and price comparisons i narrowed it down to these 3 PSU's but i am struggling to make up my mind.

1. Seasonic Prime PX 650W $148. Looks the best, best performing doesn't have capacitors in the cables. All other platinum power supplies like the Fractal ION+ or Be Quiet are only $15-20 less, not worth it considering they aren't as good and have thicker cables.

2. Seasonic Focus GX 650w $97

3. CHIEFTEC Polaris, 650 Watts $89 Performs super well, different tests on german websites have measured over 92.5% efficiency, Drawbacks, has a sleeve bearing fan and only 2 years warranty.

This is my setup:

Nvidia GTX 1080

Intel I7 9770k @5ghz

GSKILl Trident Z @1.34v 2 sticks (2x 8gb)

Asus Maximus IX Hero

7x Corsair ML120 Pro fans

Alphacool vp650 watercooling pump (30 watt)

Samsung 960 PRO 5xx GB Nvme SSD

Samsung 820 Evo 2xx GB SATA SSD

1x Samsung HDD 500gb

1x Seagate Barracude green 4tb hardrive

2 led strips.

In WIn 909 Case

The Seasonic GX should be enough.

Capacitors on the cable are not needed. They just smooth out the voltage a bit and psus benchmark better, show nicer pictures on oscilloscope, but in real world, they make very very little difference.

Not familiar with the Polaris series of power supplies, 92.5% efficiency is kinda low for a gold efficiency psu though. not sure at what point is that 92.5% measured, if at 50% load it's kinda bad.

If those are your only options I'd get the Focus GX, but I'd also look for a Corsair RM550x.

Because of this I would give it a miss and spend the extra few dollars for the Focus with its 10 year warranty and rifle bearing fan.
