Best build for £500/$550?

Johnatron 101

Recently I built a gaming PC for one of my mums students who wanted the best performing all new pc for his budget (roughly £500). The PC I managed to build consisted of the following specs:

AMD Ryzen 3 3100

Gigabyte A320M-S2H

16gb (2x8) Adata XPG Gammix 3200MHz (only £60 at ccl computers)

PowerColor RX580 8GB

Corsair CV450

Patriot Burst 120GB SSD

Toshiba 1TB HDD

Cougar MG120-G

Would be incredibly interested in what other people have built on a similar budget!

You may be able to save a bit on the GPU if you go for a used AMD RX 570/580/590 instead of a new one and put the extra money towards upgrading other essential components (ex. CPU, RAM).

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

I would actually say that that's actually a a fair bit better than what I built but one change I would make is that I would swap out the xfx card for something like a gigabyte, PowerColor, sapphire or msi card as that specific model is known for overheating and failing early in life.

that is a pretty good way to save money, though the list i made was to show what you can get new for 500ish pounds

tbh, i would ditch the a320 from that build, and get the pro4 rather than spending more on the GPU.

I probs would have done that but I was aiming more for the most performance for the very tight budget I was working on

nothing wrong with the board, it's just for that budget, you can easily fit a pro 4 which will be a lot better.

meh group reg unit sadly, a system power 9 400w/cx450w would have been a lot better.

I was Initially aiming for a cx unit but power supplys were really hard to come by at the time and the Corsair unit only cost 35 quid and it does the job nicely enough
