everything can be fake!! 

just worrying...

 

eg msi gaming/ gigabyte gpu looks exactly the  same over many gen of rx470/570/1060

 

any safety measures avoid being tricked?

gpu_z is too late since after the trade...

Sometimes where will be a stocker on it or on the box and you can check the serial number or product code, my Vega 64 has something that said 64 on the sticker so I knew it wasn't a 56.

 

Bought it used, works perfectly.

My card had a sticker on the back like this that said 64
