4K vs 1080p with 90hz

So I am looking to buy a monitor for my Xbox one x and the future Xbox Series X (which both supports 4K). I also would like to plug in my editing laptop to the monitor as well for edits. Which bares the question, should I buy a 4K monitor with 30hz or a 1080p with 90hz-144hz? Thanks Guys!

Why not 4k60? There are very few 4k 30fps modern displays.

 

I fink that 4k is really nice for editing as it gives you more space on screen.

4k at 30 Hz would be very unpleasent to work with. 4k @ 60 Hz is a good start, if you are unsure about performance, there are other sizes inbetween.

I would never recommend a 30hz monitor, ever. 60hz is still unrecommended if you'll be gaming on it. Worst case I'd recommend a 1080p144hz.

30 hz monitors exist ?  but as mentioned before 30 fps is unpleasant especially for games, 60 fps should be your minimum requirement
