headsets leaking so much sound that the mic picks it up.. that's a new one to me.

if you're absolutely sure that that's a headset issue, my hyperx cloud doesnt have that issue and is pretty good.

that said, this sounds more like one of following issues:

- you cranking your volume to deafening values

- a cable issue (a long cable with insuffiicient seperation between audio out and mic in)

- a sound card issue (crosstalk on the motherboard or sound card between traces)

Personally the one that I have used the most is the Hyper Cloud II headset, it doesn't break the bank, and there is no audio leak or pickup from the headset in the mic. The only real causes for that sort of audio leak issue are that you have the volume way too loud or the headset is cheap/broken.  As for a top 10 list... just google it. I don't think a lot of the users here have gone through and actually tested up to 10 of the newer headsets, usually that's not something consumers do, but there are plenty of tech reviews and articles that have those sorts of lists.

Sorry I should have mentioned that it's only when there is a spike of noise comming, lika a gunshot in csgo or a scream from a horror game etc.

I use open back headphones and my stuff doesn't leak into my mic. It sounds more like a wiring issue or some sort of crosstalk honestly it's probably best to use your current headset and just get a separate mic.

Extremely common issue. If the audio drivers, game client or VoIP program don't address it, you get sound bleed into the mic.

OP -  Make sure you have any noise cancelling options enabled that are available to you. Maybe you accidentally turned it off somewhere.
