Questions regarding cooling 3 nvme drives that will be between 2 2080ti's (among other things)

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this, this is my first time actively asking for help. I am in the (long) process of building a system that will eventually be all water cooled, but want to make sure everything is stable before I go running tubing and all that jazz.

I'm building this system in a Corsair 900D that will be heavily modified. I've had most of these parts for just over a year now and finally have time to put something special together and would like some assistance as I go along. I'm going to be running:
MB: MSI x399 Gaming Pro Carbon Gaming
GPU(S): 2x Asus Strix 2080ti's OC (11GB)
CPU: 2950x TR (gen 2, yes I flashed the bios so the board supports it now)
RAM: 64GB 3200mhz 14-14-14-34 (8x8GB sticks)

SSD(S): 1x Samsung 960 Pro (512GB), 1x Samsung 970 Evo (1TB), 1x Samsung 970 Evo (2TB)
PSU: EVGA 1600W (Platinum I believe, but I can't be sure as I'm very tired and can't find it on the PSU as it's already installed)
Fans: 3x 120mm intake fans in the front (one will be blowing into the lower chamber where my GPU radiator will eventually be). 1x 140mm exhaust on the back. 3x 120mm exhaust fans that came with the Coolermaster AIO I'm using temporarily until I setup my custom loop. I will likely add more fans to the bottom chamber when I eventually run my GPU's loop down there.

A Blu Ray Drive and a multimedia card reader that includes extra USB front ports will be in two of the 5.25 bays (leaving room for me to close off the side and back of the bays for a cleaner look when I'm finished)

My biggest concern as of now is that my 970 Evos are going to be directly below my 2080ti's and would like to avoid throttling as much as possible until I get my water cooled system setup (I have all the parts for said system, I just want to make sure everything is stable before beginning my first water cooled build). I have finned nvme heatsinks for my 3 nvme drives and g.skill RAM cooling fans. Would adding some kind of shim or thick thermal pad under the controllers of the nvme's help dissipate heat from the drives to the motherboard? Would that be possible? If so, would it cause problems for the motherboard?

I will include a picture of the current state of the case and MB. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If I forgot any important information let me know and I'll respond ASAP.

EDIT: It appears I'll be using this machine to do more high quality editing and rendering than I was initially expecting. Are 970 Evo lifespans that much shorter than pros when used this way? Also, I'll likely be using one or more of these nvme drives full throttle (and possibly adding more via pcie adapters). Does anyone know the distance between the bottom of the controller and the top of the motherboard in these slots? I'd really like to be able to pull heat from the controller to the motherboard if possible, but it's a large gap (my guess is 20mm or so).

I don't think you will have any temp issues

Once you install the water cooling, you should have no issues whatsoever until then you may experience some small amounts of performance degradation when throwing the drives through the wringer for 3+ minutes otherwise for daily use it should not be noticeable.

Just add heatsinks and you should be good. As for the controller it actually performs better hotter

I have heatsinks on the way. I originally bought ones with fans but I couldn't figure out a way to make the cable to sata power look nice. I had thought the controller liked to run cooler while the the nand liked to run warmer, am I mistaken?

Aka, it says the exstra airflow from a GPU is a bigger positive than the air being hot is a negative, therefore it actually being a better position than for example right above the top GPU, where there is less airflow.

 

Different parts might change things like for example different CPU cooler might make a difference.

 

I would personally just put it together, then stress the hole system including CPU, GPU, and the SSDs and then just look at the temperatures and see if something have to be done.
