Hopefully you mean what's the best speed to use? or most compatible?

BUT, this depends on the mobo used, NOT the CPU. So what mobo?

I'm not sure exactly how much the speed will matter past 3600/3733 and 16GB for gaming (2x8GB). But surely you're not gonna use a 3950X just for gaming right?  in which case the capacity would probably be better at 32/64GB or more even, depending on what you'll be using it for.

I was thinking of getting this kit: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/299/1562839114/F4-3600C14Q-32GTZNTrident-Z-NeoDDR4-3600MHz-CL14-15-15-35-1.40V32GB-(4x8GB)

Not sure if it's the very best that's why i ask people here :P

The only problem I can see if that it's 4x dimms, which sometimes can't reach the rated speeds. I've had a look on the QVL, but your kit isn't on there AFAICS.

Then you might want to look at some of the higher speeds kits like 4400MHz and then tune them down and tighter to find the fastest IF your CPU can run.

If they aren't Samsung b-die then I wouldn't use that kit.  I think there are some kits that use Hynix CJR that clock high, but you can't tighten the timings as much.  So since your goal isn't to reach 4000MHz+ due to the IF de-coupling then I wouldn't consider anything not Samsung b-die.

It should be OK, G.Skill is probrably the best overall for compatability with Ryzen.

If you get those you won't have any issues with the RAM being an issue related to topping out, that would become a limitation of the CPU's IMC and the board/BIOS.

Yes, the sticks would be capable of doing whatever the rest can support.
Do you have a range concerning RAM speed you are going for, or just as high as you can get?

something like this, and then add in a lot of manual tuning and you pretty much have the best money can buy (there is better, but its honestly pointless spending more)

these are B-die kits from what i can tell.

edit: otherwise just get a regular 3200mhz cl16 kit or get 3600mhz cl16  if you are not into manually tuning.

you do know how to tune memmory and the limitations that Ryzen 3k has on its IF, right?

because the point would be to see how high IF clocks and then tune timings and subtimings down.
