Really waiting for manufacturers to start showing Zen 2 laptops, but I guess AMD needs to announce Ryzen 4000 first.

Come on laptop manufacturers, let's see some actually useful display ratios like 16:10 or 3:2. The classic 16:9 is weak

The Daily Driver:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x  |  EVGA GTX 1070 SC  |  48GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4-3600  | Corsair 750D Case
AsRock X570 Pro 4 mobo

iRacing Sim Rig:

i5-10600k @ 5.0 GHz  |  EVGA GTX 1080ti Hybrid  | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600  |  Corsair Air 540 Case
ASUS Z490-E ROG Strix mobo

AMD just showed off a mobile 15 watt 8c16t processor with a 1.8 GHz base and 4.2 GHz boost clocks. They're insane!

Oh, and there's apparently a 1.5cm thick Lenovo Yoga laptop sporting that chip.

2020 is going to be a great year for laptops.

Strange, no laptops announced with the new RX 5700M :(

TBH I'll prefer Ryzen CPU+Nvidia GPU. New RX GPUs aren't that great in laptops as shown in Alpha 15 - same issue as before: higher power consumption+heat while providing disappointing performance

if there has to be a GPU in it. AMD really doesnt make a lot of sense, unless its clocked really low, the power requirements are too high.

will love to see how the idlepowerdraw of Zen 2 mobile, tho im guessing its not great, at least on the first iterations.

efficiency is king, because its heatouput that is performance limiting, and batterylife is the main concern when not doing heavy tasks.

idk why but new RX GPUs don't have excellent efficiency like Zen 2 CPUs, even though both of them are 7nm, hope someone can explain why

memmory controller is fairly powerhungry, why they didnt do a small buss with a big core and lower coreclock is beyond me. offcourse its expencive, but you want to compete in the laptop space not be second place.

it could also be the GCN blood that RDNA retains that will haunt it for its early iterations.

Dang it, I wanted the 1440p monitor ASUS laptops to still have a decent frame rate. Even 90hz would have been fine for me. Oh well lol.

gaming laptops below 15 inch are extremely rare, we'll see whether Asus is able to design a capable cooling solution to tame the heat of CPU+GPU in Zephyrus G14

it seems to me like they got more frequency out of the core than they planned so they went for gold, various frequency/voltage curves done by users show that at 10% lower performance power can drop by near 100w, they also couldn't go lower in memory bus, unless they went for the much more expensive 16/18Gbps modules, they were probably able to push the whole line up by 50 bucks, which while not the best thing for us, they still aren't bad value.

Polaris still having inventory that needed to be sold is probably also another reason for the price uplift as they had to take that into account when releasing the cards, it seems like the high inventory levels have changed 2 gpu launch plans by now (first with the 12nm polaris cards)

that depends on the performance target for that chip.

you can drop the coreclock of a chip and use a smaller memmory bus than otherwise needed to feed the core.
