Will an 8700K cpu bottleneck a 2080 Ti?

I recently picked up an EVGA XC2 Ultra 2080 Ti from Newegg and I’m wondering if my i7 8700K is going to bottleneck it? Do I need a 9900K or something or is an 8700K powerful enough to not bottleneck?

Thats actually why I upgraded from a 1070 Ti to a 2080 Ti because my 1070 Ti wasn’t able to keep up with the refresh rate of my monitor.

The 8700k is in the leagues of the best gaming CPUs available, the 9900k is suck a tiny percentage ahead of it you would never have to worry about bottlenecks with current gen hardware.

If you just game without any background or sideground application running without need then you'll not suffer bottleneck.

 

overclocks and memory settings matter to extract most out of it but at worst~stock it's the same as a 3700X in gaming give or take so eh fine enough specially if you'll focus eye candy so more load on GPU.

Oh so the 8700K is good enough?

I know the 9900K is only about 10% faster but I was also thinking about Threadripper & Intel Extreme and other high end cpus. I wasn’t sure if maybe the 2080 Ti required an “extreme” cpu like those.

Well sometimes I do stream on Twitch if that matters?  

 

I use the Nvidia program and click “Broadcast Live” to my Twitch channel.

Not even, since the frequencies aren't even 10% faster out of the box. It overclocks better but not a ton better.

Those CPUs are far worse for gaming, featuring slower clock speeds (and on the Intel side, older architectures) because of their high core counts and intended use for workstations.

Now I can open my 2080 Ti since I wasn’t sure if my 8700K would bottleneck it and kept it sealed in the box in case It would and I needed to return it.

It doesn't, you have a 2080 Ti, just use NVENC.

Would be good on that res. 1080 would struggle in some. 

Would be better with a great cpu and stream with that. But the gpu doing it won’t be all bad.

it's just a very specific set of games, pretty much ubisoft titles and sottr and only at 100+fps, it's nothing i'd upgrade over.  technically even the 9900k  bottlenecks a 2080 ti at 1080p, so it never ends
