Is the 2080ti worth it?

I like great visuals, dont really need much more than 60fps. I play on 1440p.

As someone who owns both right now, just wait nVidia's next generation on 7nm.

There's a performance uplift for certain and the 2080 Ti would allow more eye candy but in no way that's worth it when simply fine tuning your in game settings some should do the trick.

Hi, so i am asking all the 2080ti owners (preferably ones who had the 1080ti beforehand). I am looking in to upgrading but the prices are insane (1400€ which is i believe 1500/1600 dollars for a asus dual version). I like great visuals, dont really need much more than 60fps. I play on 1440p.

So the question is is the upgrade worth it from a 1080ti or is it better to wait for next gen cards?

Thanks in advance

Why are you even looking at upgrading? My 1080 runs ultrawide 1440 games perfectly fine at like 70+ fps.

I usualy upgrade for the thrill off it (always loved to have the best graphic cards in my rig), this is the only time i am facing a dilema becuse of the price to performance ratio. Previous generations seemed a lot more "performance gained" if you know what i mean

Just what i was considering, seems its not as much of an uplift looking at the benchmarks that would justify the price

Honestly if you're happy with 60fps at 1440p, I wouldn't even think about a 2080 Ti. My HTPC with a 1070 can handle most games well enough to maintain 60fps at max graphical settings on a 1440p screen. Heck, it's able to play quite a few games at 4k without dipping much below 60 fps if settings are dropped to medium.

Depends on your financial situation. I loved my 1080ti, but the 2080ti is definitely faster! My two fan evga card is super loud though. Get a least a 3 fan or water cooled 2080ti.

Depends,
I had a 1080Ti, and it wasn't enough for my 4k 144hz monitor. The 1080Ti runs most games at 50-70 FPS ultra.
While the 2080Ti runs the same games at 80-120FPS Ultra.

Plus, I bought my 2080Ti for $1000 and sold my 1080Ti for $650. So I ended up only paying $350 for a 2080Ti

Man i wish we had that kind of prices here. The cheapest blower one i could find was 1320e which is 1470 dollars

Even my 980ti is still pushing solid frames at 1440p. I have a 144hz monitor so sometimes I wish I had some more GPU horsepower but my 4770 wouldn't be able to keep up anyway. I'd stick with the 1080ti and wait for something reasonably priced. We shouldn't be too far from new cards anyway and it would suck having the "old" card so soon after paying full price for it

That's an F in the profile pic

2080ti to slow even for 1080p wait for the generation after the next gen GPUs (4000-series) if you have a 1080ti.

1440p and above? Atleast have to wait another 5years ..

Got one on eBay for $1099 like a year ago with a 3 year warranty from EVGA. They aren't quite as expensive as you think.
