4 core 8 thread low-power cpu.

I'm looking for a 4 core 8 thread low power CPU on a budget. Any suggestions?(must include internal/onboard graphics)

 

When I say budget I mean "at any budget".

Lol! This is for a pc build. I want the freedom of chosing ALL my parts.

Hmm... 4c8T low power parts are kind of rare now that 4c is kind of dead for mainstream.

 

You have:

 

all Ryzen APU's (2200g, 2400g, 3200g, 3400g)

 

Intel T series CPU's

How much power is "low power" for you...

 

A 9900K only uses about one or two hundred watts which is very low power compared to what your microwave or dryer uses.

 

It also is the best CPU if your budget is "any budget" and gives you more than just 4 cores and 8 threads.

 

If you really only want max 4 cores 8 threads, the i5 9400H is good.

Ryzen 2400G?  That's the first thing that comes to mind.  Unless there's a new one, then get that.

Then look for an i7 2600/K used machine on ebay and just underclock/undervolt the CPU?

Ok so we're talking really low then.  Well, there's always down clocking and undervolting, but as for a different chip I'm not sure.  That's almost going into embedded territory unless you want to try working with mobile parts somehow.

Ryzen 3 2200g. If my memory serves me right, it draws 65w.

For Intel, before, I had a Core i3-6100T (35W TDP). When I changed it for a Core i7-7700 (non-T, 65W TDP), I checked on the monitor of my APC Back-UPS Pro. It increases only 5 watts on idle and 10~15 watts (YouTube, watch a movie 1080p, ...).

 

The difference isn't a lot between 2c/4t low voltage and 4c/8t normal voltage on idle. Only difference is the full load (Cinebench, FLOPS calcul, video editor, ...)

So how low power is low power? For something a bit different, there are Atom based boards out there, for example at the following link:

However, I think although they're quad core, don't think any of them are 8 thread. Didn't check them all myself.

Ryzen 5 2400g would be about the cheapest you'll find 4c/8t w/ decent integrated graphics. You may be able to find one used

Any Xeons with an "L" are usually pretty low power consumption and some do have integrated graphics as well.
