Who is Still Using an Old Display?

Just wondering if some people are still satisfied with their display of 5 years or older.

Mine are:

ViewSonic VA2012WB, 14ish years old.

Gateway VX900, 20 years old.

I use both for gaming and everything else, I am happy with their performance.

as a retro computer enthusiast it's getting harder to justify a crt every day as the resolution , refresh rates , and black levels have finally been surpassed by lcds.

The hardest thing is I have a  few spare 1680x1050 monitors that actually support every low resolution even 320x200

That being said I do have a monster crt that I break out sometimes that is a 19 inch 165hz beast.

Panasonic TH-42PZ85BA

Its a 42" Plasma 1080p TV and is roughly 8 years old.

I wouldn't say i'm happy with it NOW as its on its last legs, got some issues, but i still prefer to deal with it over buying a POS LCD. Prior to the last 2 years it has been superb.

With the exception of resolution its far superior to any LCD of its size. In fact i would argue that given the primary difference, in regards to gaming, between a 4k display and 1080p Display is the rendering resolution, and not the actual display resolution*, I would, if i could, buy another Plasma screen at 1080p over a 4k LCD, due to Plasmas far better performance in every 'visual' aspect ,except resolution and the fact OLED is just to big still at 55"+.

*Compare 2 comparable displays of different resolution, one a 1080p panel the other a 4k panel, display a game at 4k rendering on both and the difference is far less noticeable than if u ran the game at the 'native' resolution of both screens, which is what the vast majority of people do and thus come to the incorrect assumption that 4k panels are just THAT much better. There ARE better, but not THAT much, the primary difference they are noticing is the rendering resolution.

Not sure if my S3240M is 5 or not yet, but I do know my Samsung TV that I use daily is about 7 years old and still does okay. Really would like to replace it because the pixel arrangement is complete ass (offset vertically from one another so text looks godawful).

Also have my dad's old Samsung CRT tucked in my closet that I don't really use but it's a pretty damn good boobtube that didn't completely kill your wallet from 2002-2003 I believe. Want to say the highest it does is 2048x1536 or something like that.

My CRT works fine but, there is a little bit of damage to the shadow mask in the top right corner, it is fine for gaming and I'm fine with that but, i would love to get a nice 19" trinitron.

Sometimes I look at some of the new 1080p monitors displayed in the store and to me most of them just look washed out and not as sharp as my 1050p Viewsonic, maybe I'm crazy.

some acer 1080p display from ~2008, it's surprisingly very good still (compared to my laptop displays)

some asus WUXGA display from ~2006-2007, it's a bit dim now but it's been used everyday

some asus 1080p display from ~2011-2012, I used to use this as my main but gave it to my dad

my main display is close, it's a 4k display released in 2014/2015 but I bought it in 2016, it's very good and still A+ tier just because of it's insane contrast / blacks (5000:1 NOT DYNAMIC), alongside being a 4k display

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.
