15 min for 46 minutes is amazing!

i'll tell you a couple things you probably should know by now

adobe is unoptimised as hell, and only really has something in place for quicksync and cuda, not for opengl, that's why amd generally performs worse.

and if leaked benches are true, even the 3700x would smoke a 9900k, let alone a 3950x

and there's no i10

I just might bypass the Ryzen and get a i10 next year, unless Ryzen blows away the 9900k which I doubt.

Look at benchmarks for the 2950x. That is what you are getting in terms of rendering performance.

Or wait 3 days.

My old man rendered a 46 minute video with Premiere.  It was 1080p 30fps h.264 and it did it in 15 minutes

In other words Doesnt say a lot when you cant compare......

Also the 2950x has quite the rendering advantage in adobe premiere.

As long as the benchmarks coming out aren't complete fantasy, then 3rd gen Ryzen does seem to blow away the 9900K. I mean, when you look at both performance and price:performance together.

In terms of performance alone, 9900K won't be completely blown away, but it will be at least a little slower, and at a significantly higher cost.

Good post Luke to the rescue.  You say AMD is not as good in Premiere but then you say the 3700 will smoke the 9900k.  So I'm assuming you mean these new Zen 2 chips and not the AMD of the past and what not.

I said the 3700x will GENERALLY outperform it, for adobe we're yet to see, because it currently heavily relies on quicksync to perform better, which has to do with the igpu, not the cpu

and amd has a disadvantage with gpu's because they can't utilize cuda, rather rely on opengl, which is badly inplemented in adobe

i'm saying that amd is currently going ahead of intel, and by far
