lervayy
Go to solution Solved by _Hustler_One_,

Noctua NH-C14S perform as good as NH-D15S with only 142mm height with fan above the heatsink and 115mm with fan under the heatsink. Good compatibility.

Im looking for the best CPU Air Cooler with a max height of 155mm
Price doesn't matter.

Socket is AM4

Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3

both of these are above 160mm and the pro 3 was replaced by the pro 4

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Why not a compact watercooler?
A Coolermaster Masterliquid Lite 120 will perform way better than any air-cooler you can cram in 155mm, and if you don't have the 120mm fan slot to put it in you can legit just cram the pump/res/rad combo ontop of the CPU block and it'll take less than the 155mm of space you're looking to keep it under.

My rig:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 3.6Ghz, OC'ed to 4.2Ghz all core @ 1.25v + Corsair H60 120mm AIO

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super

*bought for $200 CAD off a friend who needed an RTX 3080, price was my reward.

CASE: InWinn A1 Plus in White with included 600w gold sfx PSU and included custom length cables

DISPLAY: 3x 20" AOC 1080p 60hz 4ms ,  32" RCA 1080p/60hz TV mounted above, all on a single arm.

Storage: C : 1TB WD Blue NVMe      D : 2TB Barracuda      E: 240GB Kingston V300 (scratch drive)

NAS: 240GB Kingston A400 + 6x 10+ year old 700GB Barracuda drives in my old FX8350+8GB DDR3 system

Also you ubderestimate how bad 120mm liquid coolers are.

Wrong.

Reasons not to go with a compact watercooler:

Dark Rock TF:

  • Quieter
  • Better cooling (220w tdp)
  • Fans can be replaced in case of failure
  • Slightly more expensive
  • Will cool motherboard VRMs

Masterliquid Lite 120:

  • Louder
  • Worse cooling (180w tdp)
  • Pump can and will die
  • Risk of leaks
  • Draws more power
  • Slightly cheaper

Why are they too heavy? Is there a weight limit? If so, why?

What cpu, ram, and case are you using?
