Life is pointless but seriously What’s the point in life ? Read below what my mindset is saying to me cuz I don’t get it

Well, in a nutshell, our only purpose is to feed and multiply. It's what all living creatures do. The difference is, animals aren't aware of their place within the realm of existence. They just exist and never question it. Kinda sucks being intelligent enough to question yourself about that, but not intelligent enough to also answer it.

Said a different way...

Animals with an empty stomach = ONE problem

Animals with a full stomach =  ZERO problems

They are quite content when full...

Versus....

Humans with an empty stomach = ONE problem

Humans with a full stomach =  100 problems

See, a hungry person only has one problem to solve.  Once they are full, all kinds of drama in their mind appears.  This is a product of human intelligence working against itself because most humans haven't bothered to read their users manual.  Which is very odd given that we are the most complex biological mechanisms on the planet.

Maximize your self. Every day, expand your existence. You determine what that means, and it's not necessary a dream job or ideal spouse or maximum wealth. Do everything you can to prove to yourself that you are present and real, which can only be done in terms of your relationships. Being completely isolated makes any achievement meaningless. Learn to love everyone, so you can learn from them the things you lack in both information and goodness.

Do that habitually, and you'll have fun not only eventually but also in the present. If you're not living to get better, you're no different than an animal.

The whole point is love, I think. There's a reason why we're not all trying to kill each other, why we feel sad when we see an unfortunate event, or why we do things that affect others in a positive way. Once you find something worth loving, life itself seems to unravel and show its colors. I believe if you have not had something like this yet, you likely have, and are just likely in denial of love.

Ever thus? The intelligent used to bred, at least to higher rates than now.

Their offsprings do not have a mortality rate of 50% before the age of 16 as that back in the Paleolithic period now do they?

I did not say natural selection needs you breed like a rabbit. If you can have one or two offspring with equal chances of passing down the gene compared to hundreds of them, as many insects like to do, it would serve the species very well to just have one or two such offsprings. Much more energy efficient this way.

Is there any divine purpose for us in life?  I doubt it.  But here we are, might as well make the best of it.  Make your own purpose in life.

I'm not driven by any mandated purpose in life.  I live to be happy and make those close to me happy, that fulfills me.

There is a possibility that life may be meaningless after all, but as much as that comes with frustration there is also freedom. Do with your life as you wish as long as it doesn't harm others. Embrace the lack of meaning in some of the things you do.

i often wonder this myself. Certainately at the moment. I have a lot of debt, i have a wife who i love but feel like i can't provide the life for her that she deserves. she could do better. I'm not very good at anything. I have accomplished things but i won't be remembered by many. And those that do... will it really matter?

I'm not famous, nor will i ever be, i am not a legend nor will i ever be. i have my health (well some of it left) there are people out there that have it worse off than me however that doesnt affect me so isn't really relevant.

Sometimes we all wonder what's the point?

Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here.We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds, how dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state from which the vast majority have never stirred?”

In short, it's a miracle you exist. Why not make the best out of it?

i have stuggled with that thought in my teens alot as well. now i just like to quote rick and morty :"what about the reality where hitler cured cancer? the answer is dont think about it morty"

no but seriously theres no point to life, no meaning to anything everybody dies, come watch tv. fuck again with the rick and morty i gotta stop. but seriously a very intersting show with exactly that topic.

no but really seriousy there is no point and that is one tough fact to swallow i know. thats why people look for a higher meaning or god or some shit. biological life as we know it is a chemical reaction. nothing more. sure a very complex reaction at this point but still just a as predetermined of a reaction as setting a piece of paper on fire or anything else. sure you can do whatever you want and think of free will but ultimativly society and genes shaped you into being exactly like you are now.

again just dont get lost in the thought about the bigger picture. try to enjoy the little things of life and try to have fun.

as far as caring for other people goes i find thinking about reincarnation helps. try reading "the egg". i know its just some bullshit short story on the internet but if you just for a second imagine that it was true youd start having more patience and tolerence and empathy with people. at least it does for me.

Life is what you make it out to be, no single answer can be associated with the question "what is the purpose of life"

What life means to me or anyone else in the forum might not or will not align with what you believe it to be; what you achieve in life or what you plan to achieve dictates what it means to you personally.

Don't wait for someone to justify what you're doing or what you did, if you spend your days waiting for clarification on what your role is in life then you won't get an answer.

It is important to consider that you are yourself a lucky individual. The sheer chance that we exist at all is infinitesimally small. The chance that you yourself exist is even smaller. Might as well make the most of it, you won’t get this chance again.

Your life matters a great deal in this universe. It is a very humbling thought that you are the only version of you to exist ever, and at small chances of doing so.

To be fair, it probably won’t make a difference what you do, but the way I see it, I’m here now, might as well make full use of it.

To get meaning in your life, barring a medical condition like depression,  there are only two things you have to do.

1.  Earn your pay, do your bit and take responsibility for yourself and your family. (this gives you independence, self esteem and most importantly value)

2.  Help others who can't help themselves.  It doesn't matter why they can't, self inflicted, mental, poor luck or accident whatever, help them out. (charity causes people to literally be happier and healthier, which means you feel better about everything).

If your life actually matters and you live like it doesn't that's a huge waste to society.

Chances are your life DOES matter. Beyond that you can multiply your impact by helping others. In that sense, at least one purpose can be to help and nourish those around you and to encourage them to do the same.

As far as mental health is concerned - eat well, sleep well, work on regulating stress(e.g. mindfulness meditation), socialize at least a little, exercise regularly and DO THINGS THAT MATTER. These all go a long way.

I know some of you say do what you want but you can’t becaue you need money and to get money u gotta probably work so it’s not exactly because your forced to unless you wanna be a homeless or bloody like living poor

If you aren't old enough to work, then the load you need to carry is one of commitment to the people who care for you.    Take out the bins, mow the lawn, wash the dishes.  Paint the eaves whatever will help around the house.   Age doesn't stop you volunteering to help in community groups or charities.  Try it, you'll be amazed how good you feel.   Hell, even just giving a dollar of your pocket money to the man out the front of the servo will make you feel good,  even if you suspect he'll just spend it on drugs.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

I didn't say "do what you want", I said "have a good time". There are ways of doing that even with relatively little money - in my experience that comes through the relationships you have with your friends and family.

Also if you have a problem with the currently exploitative nature of work and the privileges of wealth you might want to join a union and maybe look up socialism.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Do work that you want. You’re on a computer rn. You can write stories, make YouTube videos, play video games, program, learn any academic subject, design things with CAD, write music & more.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy at least 1 of those things.

My thought? Life is nothing but what you make of it.

Live for something greater than yourself, and every day wonder what you may leave on this earth when you pass. Live every day as if tomorrow never comes.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

I'm just gonna leave this here :D

...

Our universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding,
In all of the directions it can whiz;
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth;
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth!

I'm also in the George Carlin camp.  Answer to the question. Why are we here?  Plastic. Earth wanted plastic and didn't know how to make it.
