How do I prevent CPU Cooler being too big for my case?

Your case will have a Max CPU clearance, just make sure whatever cooler you buy.. is at or under than value. Thats how you prevent it. It only happens from people who dont research there products and parts they buy before buying them.

So, I heard alot of people (in Reddit mostly) have gotten the same problem. Now I do not wanna waste money for a CPU cooler that doesn't even fit nor I can use it. Other than being too big for the  case, I also don't want it to block the ram slots, so yeah that's it

 

Any advice would be appreciated :D

As said above, just check the manufacturer website for your case and cooler and check it fits.

If you want to be extra sure (because maybe you also want to check clearance with the RAM) you could go to PCPartPicker and see if anyone has a built a PC with the configuration you want.

You can also watercool with an AIO. Just another option.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

unless your case is really special, height is the only limiting factor.

You need to look at case dimensions before you buy a case or a cooler.  Also ram height clearance.

 

My Noctua NH-D15 needs a lot of space. The best case for it is a Cooler Master H500 since it is 8.98" wide. On a SilverStone RL06BR-GP that is 7.87" wide could only fit one fan since ram height is a factor.

 

I have a be quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 sitting in a box because my ram is too tall for it. The next ram I buy will be low profile so I can use it.

If you want cooler recommendations, let us know what cpu, case, and ram you're using, where you're shopping / located and your budget.

Are you aiming to completely clear the ram to show it off for aesthetics, want ease of access, or just wants a cooler that fits at all?
