How do you keep yourself comfortable in the summer heat while gaming?

aaradorn

I hate the heat of the summer, my mouse and keyboard get all sweaty, leaving marks everywhere. My PC's fans work as hard as they can.

I tried a fan but I get a headache if it's on for too long. What do you guys use and are there any tips and tricks to beat the summer heat?

(Video idea?)

I take my phone, open an app and toggle the On-switch to turn the air-source heat-pump on -- BOOM, comfortable temperatures indoors!

cold bath, t-shirt soaked in cold water(if your chair can take it)

heat makes me want to die
1. a/c is the only way to fix it
2. a good fan can make it a little less annoying, but as above, my head hurts and it also blows things of my desk.
3. There is sun blocking foil or however it's called, it's supposed to block for example 90+% of IR and UV light, but only 10% of the visible spectrum, I had it and I have to admit, the difference was big, like if you leave something on a windowsill, normally it can get hot to the touch, with such foil it would be just warm, It could make your room 2-3'C colder, so it's also less work for a/c and a bit privacy thanks to venetian mirror effect.

I had a/c and was foolish enough to move...

Air con is the proper way . other than that small table fan with a damp cloth hung nearby & windows open would be a nice alternative or just keep drinking ice chilled water/soda/drinks at intervals by having an ice box in your room.

Details separate people.

I use a fan, it's far enough to not cause issues for me and it's also remote controlled~

That is actually completely counterproductive, you wanna keep the extreme heat outside.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

AC at 63F.

And now that I run a wetbench, I have extra case fans and some easily accessible fan headers, sooooo plug one in and point it at me.

My ancestors had the foresight to set up camp in Scotland so excessive heat is not really a thing where I live. I like to think that they did it specifically so that I could game in comfort thousands of years later but I doubt it.

During our hottest of days it's really just sufficient to make sure the heating is turned off and downgrade to a single layer of clothing to be comfortable.

I live in Scotland where it admittedly doesn't get as hot as many places but on the back of that we have an issue. All our houses are built to keep heat in because of the colder climate. We don't have aircon in our homes most of the time so we're left with open all the windows (one on each side of the house for a through draft is a good strategy), wear lighter clothes, drink cool drinks and if worst comes to worst, get a fan.

One thing I did notice when I was doing maintenance on my computer and it was sitting open on my desk while I was working is that it shoved out a lot of cool air so if you're desperate to keep your hand cool and sweat free you could try that I suppose?

That's got to be the best advice in this thread.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

I use 2 box fans (one for me, one for my PC) and cold drinks.

If it's >35c inside then I also put a bag of ice cubes on my head (it makes me look like an idiot but it works really well).

It might seem excessive but where I live it gets up to about 32c in the summer. My house has a lot of insulation and no A/C so it can get to 40c inside.
