Is this rtx 2080 worth getting?

Tevildo

Nvidia is pretty strict now, you're literally fine buying any 2080 maybe if its a weird chinese brand there might be issues, but any of the big companies you're totally fine with getting.

This is what's worth getting right now:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/yM97YJ/powercolor-radeon-vii-16-gb-video-card-axvii-16gbhbm2-3dh

£610...insane value (Well compared to what we've had anyways, it's still not that great value). 3 fan design for that price, 16gb vram..you can't really miss out on that. I'd get the Radeon VII right now while it's on 50th anniversary sale as it's the cheapest at that price range and the cooler design is better than anything Nvidia have to offer at under 650. 750 for a 2080 is crazy. Don't waste 150 on a better cooler and 5-10% better performance at best, I'm sorry but just don't.

theres absolutely no reason to get a premium version of the 2080 other than looks/fan noise, just get a redeon vii or if you have too much money to burn, a 2080 ti.

This. I just like AMD software more.. I had the FTW3 2080 and now how a VII. Maybe a little less performance but who gives a shit. Way better experience, IMO. Plus I like tweaking shit. Just got probably the best Superposition score for any Radeon VII so now I feel special lol.

To answer your question, though, that GPU is a great choice and is a top card! I like the Gigabyte Aorus Extreme cards.. They will almost all preform similarly and that should stay just as cool as the MSI/STRIX/EVGA...

Can't go wrong with either.. I actually bought the FTW3 2080 before the VII because I thought it looked great.. Now I couldn't be happier with my VII.. But mines on water so I can't speak for the stock cooler..

The 779$ strix is same price as yours and its the best 2080 you can get, so how can it be not worth it? You can't go wrong with that.

I am getting rtx cards a lot cheaper, so like the rtx 2080 msi one I would be paying around £400 for.

Imo the ones that look best are MSI Gaming X Trio and Zotac Amp Extreme. Prefer the Zotac though

Ok aesthetics is subjective so it's hard to give advice on such thing.. performance wise you are settled i guess

Zotac one looks really nice but I think msi one looks the best. Either that or the gigabyte auros one with those amazing fans

But man, be carefull.. do go mad with only aesthetics, later you can regret and finish with a SSD with leds that is overheating and causing windows to crash (jayztwocents reference)

All 3 of them are pretty high end, so you shouldn't have a problem with them. I'd just get the one thats cheapest amongst those, and if they're similarly priced then get the one that looks the best

I like the Gigabyte over the others, honestly.. The RGB is way more appealing than the other, especially if you do a vertical GPU mount.. If not, then the MSI or Zotac..

Because it's $779, that's why. The prices are so high for 2080's/Radeon VII's, that it's important to spend as least as possible. We should be spending 500, 550, maybe 600 on a gpu with that kind of performance. The 1080ti was less than 779 when it was released...

That's why I recommended the Radeon VII, it's the cheapest right now at 610 and it's a 3 fan design. That's better than anything Nvidia have to offer at that sort of price.

But sometimes when you just want your dream build for the sake of having it... you know how it ends.. you don't look on those 50$ you could spare
