Why do people still think that Rap isn't "real" music?

It frustrates me that some people still think that rap isn't music, or they say that it doesn't take talent.

 

Can someone please explain this?

It is. At least for me! I Iove to listen to raps. But sadly, they're just a part of the music and it can't be totally a  music. I guess that's a reason :)

i dont like rap because its is a lot of heavy bass overpowerd nonsens about shit topic most of the time. IMO

Some of it isn't.

 

"Soul rap" is pretty damn nice though.Music usually uses 2 things to convey feelings : musicality (voice, instruments,etc.) and the lyrics themselves.Rap kinda lacks musicality so you have to be very expressive to make it good.

There are three kinds of Rap as I see it. R&B kind rap which is just talking and swearing over a shitty beat (More Recent). Old HipHop which is still not my cup of tea but I can see why people would like it. And then Rap like Rage Against the machine which is fantastic.

I really don't have a problem with it, I like a few songs or the rap equivalent of it. But most "rap" these days isn't really rap, they really are not very rhythmic or poetic.

My hate for rap comes because of german rappers. The lyrics suck big time and they are all retarded bitches.
