Thinking of selling my PC, need help coming up with a price

Hey guys and gals,

Thinking or selling my two year old PC on Facebook or EBay. I spent around £1300+ on it at the time back in January 2017.

I’m not silly also, I do know how much the price depreciates over time with PC hardware when second hand btw haha ?

Here are the specs:

Intel 6700k

NZXT Kraken X62 240mm AIO

Asus Z170 S Sabertooth TUF series motherboard

Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM 16GB (2X8GB) @ 3000mhz

ASUS GTX 1060 6GB OC

Sandisk M.2 128GB SSD

Seagate 1tb HDD

NZXT H440 White

NZXT Hue+

NZXT 140mm AER RGB fan

NZXT 120mm AER RGB fans (x2)

NZXT RGB strips 1ft (x2)

I was thinking of listing it for £600? Maybe £700?

I’m mainly thinking about the combined second hand cost of the CPU, GPU and RAM.

Thank for anything helpful in advance.

thats still a very good system. probably worth 300 for just the CPU... 80 for the board, 150 for the GPU (low estimate), another 80-100 for the dominator ram... the fans and case really don't depreciate, and another 60 for the cooler. so about 750 id say low end...

I'd probably say it'd be about 750-850. If I were you'd I'd just list it for 850 and see how that goes.

This is a little more complicated unfortunately. Really depends on the area you are selling in and what the local market supports. Here I would probably be able to get 1000 USD for that. If I were to sell in Philadelphia PA, I probably would only get about 700 for a machine like that. I would say start high and lower over time until you get a bite. Unless you need a quick sale.

I'd recommend selling it for around $1000 CAD. I have a similarish build in terms of performance (although I have a way better motherboard, double the RAM, and a 1TB SSD).

Ryzen killed the value of your PC, as it did to mine.

And this is how much I'd sell the build for in my area. I'm not sure about pricing where you live.

CPU: Intel Core i7-950 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R CPU Cooler: NZXT HAVIK 140 RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 (1x2GB), Crucial DDR3-1600 (2x4GB), Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 (1x4GB) GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 770 DirectCU II 2GB SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" 1TB HDDs: WD Green 3.5" 1TB, WD Blue 3.5" 1TB PSU: Corsair AX860i & CableMod ModFlex Cables Case: Fractal Design Meshify C TG (White) Fans: 2x Dynamic X2 GP-12 Monitors: LG 24GL600F, Samsung S24D390 Keyboard: Logitech G710+ Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum Mouse Pad: Steelseries QcK Audio: Bose SoundSport In-Ear Headphones

Edit*

Just used the UK ebay instead for these.. Deleted everything above lol.

175-200 CPU

125-150 mobo

80-100 Cpu Cooler

100 Ram

125-140 GPU

25 for storage

120 case + fans + hue

So now this brings us to £750 - £835

Now I always tend to take the lowest buy it nows or best offers to set a price point. You can possibly get more, but I would aim for the 835 and settle for 750 worse case. You also have to consider that you might make more parting this out, but I wouldn't even bother for the storage... they are used and low capacity so they really don't have much value. Also do you have an OEM copy of windows 10 you use on this machine? If so you should ask if they want the license for it and increase the price by another 25-40. If it isn't an OEM copy I would just keep it and reuse it, but OEMs are easier to just sell with the machine most of the time. Either way this came out pretty close to where I thought it would be. In general the cost of Electronics depreciate at about 20% per year... so if you paid 1300 2 years ago it would drop to 60% of the original value or £780 which is right in the range I found on ebay.
