This guy put a lava lamp inside his PC and won't listen to us explaining why it's so stupid

his argument is it only changed his cinibench heat by 2c whilst he won't run any extended stress tests over time :/also yes that's a lava lamp

 

Anyone able to list reasons why this is stupid?

I don't see anything wrong, I feel that his doing it right, or maybe there's really a problem that I dont know.

lava lamps run really hot, 60c + I think. So we're pointing out he's cutting off airflow and making the air he's trying to cool his pc with noticeably warmer

Case already looks choked af so I don't think the lava lamp is hurting it much more.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

it wont be a large problem because of its round shape, adding that his using a aio beside the gpu

Not to mention that if that thing breaks for some reason, it won't be very pretty. But honestly from the amount of cooling fans he has in there, he might be okay if he actually monitored the temps after letting that thing cook in there for a bit

people put novelty things inside there case all the time... If he wants to do that.. then let him.. its his case, his thermals.. No sense in bashing his decision for trying something and liking it.

Lava lamp is stupid? And lot of stupid colorful leds are not stupid, right? Or led motherboards animations? Or animated colors on fans?

Lights everywhere has the same sense as lava lamp. Both - led computer illumination and lava lamp inside case is the same circus decorations.

I recommend to anyone who likes lights, leds, colors and disco pc case to add fountain at the top of the case and put christmas tree lights around.

I don't think the lava lamp is any stupider than RGB everything inside a case. As long as there is no large heat increase in critical components, it's not going to do any harm. Why are you so concerned about it? It's his computer so he can do whatever he jolly well wants to do with it.
