Scammy site using Linus in its ad...

jdryner

I'm not sure if this site is safe, but they are using your Youtube video to sell stuff for some janky prices. I tried notifying you on Twitter before this, but I wanted to make sure you caught this and could possibly shut them down before they scam anyone else.

Yeah, but does it look good when Linus is used to enforce a scammer's sales? No; it's true though that he can't help who copies a video or a link to one, but I don't think he would like this. I wouldn't, especially if my face were used to scam folks. I'm new here, what do I know?

Not really. Cannot do "fair use"* if it's knowingly not derivative. That's just screencapping and posting for advertisement/sales. Perhaps a News outlet could get around it. But not a store.

*Lol, suddenly realised it's proper name. XD

This is 100% a scammer. They have two websites, one called Hexpress (under the name of Topshop or Topshopt) and one called First1 Rate (under the name of Funny Mall). When you search for Funny Mall on Google this is what it comes up with ( https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/funny-mall.com ). This scammer also fails on one thing, if both companies were based in London why would they use the USD currency only? That doesn't add up at all.

Update: This scammer has a third site called Ideal Mall (under the name of Colorful Hairs). Reviews tell the same story as the Funny Mall site ( https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/colorful-hairs.com ).

Linus has a genuine reason to use the USD currency though , this scammer obviously doesn't and just wants to scam people out of their own hard earned money.

Yep, it seems like this scammer is targeting Facebook users by posting advertisements for products and using bait & switch tactics.
