1.9TDI is a blessed engine. nothing they've made since has been as bulletproof as those old PD bastards.

Especially the 1.9 diesels without the turbo. Boring af, but you could run those cars on unrefined crude oil without a problem

On an unrelated note;

I'll be visiting relatives over the weekend, so that's a great excuse to have all my systems on full power since nobody will be home anyway :D

True true. However, mine has turbo and whole engine has been one big pain in the arse for last two years... It might be because I push it to the limits, but who would know... ???

mine for a while now but, bloody MOT tests, can’t even remove the DPF even though it wasn’t required to have one when it was built - if it was made with one it has to keep it.

Still. 300hp 600nm isn’t too bad, and 44mpg isn’t anything to sniff at either

Oy oy oy, you lost me at 600nm, am not that into cars ?.

Oh, luckily I had no problems with MOT tests here in Serbia. And DPF was sadly put when car was built and I am legally required to have it forever.

66kW (90 hp) is quite annoying factor in my car but as I am getting a new one, I do not mind driving slower one for a while.

Are you Overclocking the Shader Clock? My 1070ti will take a +150Mz overclock and remain stable. That’s an extra 12 extra clock steps.

The only reason my output fluctuates so much is the fact that I stream and thus stop folding on my main rig while streaming.

The house move next month is gonig to be hell, folding will be down, no streaming and all the normal moving stress, urgh.

Yes, both 1070ti's are +150 I think (Maybe only +100, I cant actually recall) but they're both bumped up in clocks while being power limited to about 60%

How's that possible, my 1070 does 700k flat on almost all 0x21 cores with no client-type addition. I will have to try it with advanced now...

yeah i'm not sure why either.

1070 1 just started a 22 WU now and PPD is up to 1.5M on both.

Well now that looks okay, I thought was averaging 350k on 0x21 which would only be possible if you limited Power to like 40-50% or even less.

Looks like I will have to go to client-type advanced on all my cards now... Tho, I tried advanced on my r9 380x and rx580, however, it just ignored 0x22 core on them, idk why. But 0x22 is really often on my 2x1080 Ti.

~1500kPPD is very respectable for 2 x 1070Ti on air even without the power limit being dropped to 60%.

one 1070Ti on full bore will get about 850-1000kPPD so i'd say that TV's cards are doing pretty well despite the power limitations. perhaps he has some good bins?

?‍♂️

During the Foldathon, they both produced about 1.9M PPD total if memory serves me correctly. And that was of course without the power limitations, but I dont think the clocks were bumped up much beyond the +150, if anything they were turned down a bit.

Edit: Good thing I have a build log!

Quote

For the duration of the Folding Month I ran the cards at full power with +100mhz offsets, which actually allowed both cards to run 2025mhz. I believe temps were in the mid 60's too which is pretty good. Power usage was in the 350w range (need to confirm this when I get home) when both cards were drawing full power, now they're back down to about 280w. Both cards are also now around the same boost clocks in the 1900mhz range while being power limited to 60%

i suspect you got lucky on your cards as my partner's 1070ti (well, yeah, technically mine) won't go above 1800 at a low power limit

My cards used to be weird, they would One would hover in the mid 1800's and then the other would be in the 16's, and then theyd switch. Then at some point they both got ont he same page and actually applied the +100 (+150?) mhz overclocks. Could have been that I used that Nvidia program to manually change the P0 state, but it took a while to initiate (at least a few days)

When in doubt, repaste!

Weird, MSI's cards are some of the best dual fans cards (Their Gaming X series was for a long time on part with the three fan FTW and Strix cards in performance and noise.) and the titanium doesnt look that far off from the Gaming X....

10/10 for colour, 0/10 for the eye strain involved in updating it
