I did threaten it, I also turned off the 'EPU' power saving in BIOS, maybe the Celeron wasn't liking the low volts I don't know. I think I also changed something else but I've been sitting for 5 hours in a parking lot and just gotten home so I can't recall. Either way, it's been running the whole time I've been gone. Holy heck that Celeron is SLOW and running one core takes forever but it got work INSTANTLY again!? Weird. Might need to put an active heat sink and a better CPU in there, I wish Haswell or Broadwell i7's weren't worth their weight in gold still FFS, I'll have to dig up what cheap Xeon's I can install in the H97 board and try to score one of those for some 3 threaded CPU folding.

This happened after a reboot when I was messing with xorg.conf, put things back to how they were, suggestions? I rebooted the PC, fahcontrol still can't connect to the client to allow me to make any config changes, may be able to poke around in the config files manually if I knew what I was doing. Seems like uninstalling and reinstalling does the trick, so I don't know if it broke this time because I messed with xorg.conf and reverted my changes or if it broke because I rebooted, or if it broke because something is wrong with my hardware or if it broke because something is wrong with fah on linux.

Poked around, should the config.xml be completely blank? Also sudo /etc/init.d/FAHClient start results in an output of fail.

 

So turns out I was on 7.5.1, so I downloaded the debs for 7.6.9 and installed fahclient and fahcontrol. Great. Control opens, runs, connects to client, only CPU is showing, ok. Configure, add GPU slot, save, only CPU is showing. Only CPU is showing?  What's wrong now? Why does this keep breaking? Help?

 

Reboot again, and now it's fine.

I think I might have found my random PC lockup issue...

I ended up locating a high quality one in my basement that I couldn't find before, it's much heavier feeling so we'll see how it does.

Ouch - was that connected to the mining card? It looks like a combination of bad crimps on the molex pins, possibly loose connections and likely too small a gauge (18AWG?) of wire.

 

I have a couple of cheaters I got with EVGA cards so I trust those.
