LTX 2018 Rideshare Program

Just got my visa in the mail today! <3 I'll schedule OnTrac tickets if no one replies in a week, but would prefer to carpool it over to LTX from Seattle; anyone down to giving me a ride? It doesn't have to be for free; I can pay you!

Edit- I'm willing to give you $50 per way; for a $100 total if you're doing a round trip on the day of the event.

Alrighty, sounds good. If I leave within a week of the event, we should just be able to make a round trip down to get you and drive back in time. You're paying for gas and Starbucks though.

Would you be passing through Seattle and mind adding me to the list?

I got my enhanced license, so theyll just let me drive through the border. Need to buy a 2000 honda civic to drive there. You can drive 5 hours on 20$ in a civic.

You think you've got it bad, look at my trip

Um... erm... apologies, but my post was sarcastic in nature haha. I don't have the time to take 2 weeks off work just to drive down from Vancouver Island to California and back again. I actually probably won't be making it to LTX2018 due to work, so next year I'll offer rideshares again if I end up going and there ends up being an LTX2019.

First and foremost, my friend and I are unsure if we're going this year, pending work schedules and personal lives, so I cannot offer rides to anyone again this year like I did last year for a couple people until that's settled. If we do go, we'd be taking one of the 2 ferry routes from Vancouver Island, and would have room for 2 normal sized human blobs and 1 skinny one, or 2 blobulous sized human blobs, but again, I won't know until it's closer to the date.

I just thought I'd create an unofficial ridesharing / carpooling thread for anyone who wishes to be nice and pickup those staying outside of walking distance or public transit with their extra vehicular seating.

(Mods, go right ahead and delete this if you'd rather not have it on the forum - just thought it'd be a good idea for those traveling in from out of country.)

Here's how this should work: You create a post in this thread depending on the following:

  • if you're driving, how many seats you wish to fill in your vehicle
    • OR
  • if you need a ride, how many people need a pickup, and from where (no direct addresses please - this is a public form, after all)

  • When you find someone who needs a pickup or someone who can pick you up, quote them once with your reply
    • then they should PM you with more details to work things out - I am not volunteering to do the coordination for you :P
  • If you fill your seats or find a rideplease remember to EDIT your post in this thread so everyone knows your seats are filled / you found a ride

And as always, be safe! If you're uncomfortable giving /getting a ride to / from a stranger, there is never any obligation to follow through. Simply let them know you no longer need to give / take the ride, and get to LTX 2018 however you were going to get there originally.

Anybody Able to come pick me up im in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

A bit too late unfortunately :( I upped my offering to $200 and someone took me up on it two days back, so I'm no longer looking for a rideshare. Thanks for your offer and time though; and see you at the event!

PS- What time are you reaching the venue?

I'm heading up from south Seattle first thing in the morning tomorrow (Saturday 14th). I can pick up to 4 people with backpacks.

Out of curiosity, what time are you leaving and how much are you charging? I've pretty much already paid someone to ferry me already, so I won't be able to ride with anyone else, but am curious as to when others from Seattle are reaching/ leaving.

Edit- nevermind; just saw you cannot make it.

I can totally make it :P It's my wife who can't.

I'll probably leave around 6:30. Not a long drive; but I've never dealt with crossing a US border on land. Not sure how long that'll take.

And I wouldn't charge anything. I'm going anyway :P

From Seattle?

Stop in Bellingham, and check border times. Sometimes Peace Arch (the main one) can have 45 minute-2hr waits, while Pacific ~1km away will have no wait.

Yeah, from Seattle area. Thanks for the tip, man! Will do!

Also love the username xD

Also, make sure you have enough gas to last you for the whole trip before crossing into Canada. $1.52/litre is the price at my local gas stations currently. That's C$6.02/US Gallon. I live near LTX, so if you need to fill up at LTX...
