Day Theme font color format invisible on Night Theme

Over the past week I noticed that a lot of posts have the same color formatting issue. @LoGiCalDrm also mentioned it in the Setup thread and suggested the latest update to the site could have caused it.

 

I tested it on one of my posts in that thread and confirmed that Day Theme uses color formatting that is almost invisible on the Night Theme.

I always use dark. I just switched to light real quick to copy some text and paste it back on night theme.

Known issue, it's due to the way that rich text copy and pasting works (when you copy text from websites, including ours, it copies part of the style, when you paste it that style is automatically applied). There's not much we can do about it other than what we currently have, unless we wanted to completely ban the pasting of rich text (currently when you paste rich text a little box pops up asking if you would like to remove the formatting).

Before, it would paste a white background with black text. Now it's just the gray text color which imo is worse.

Banning rich text? Would that make it socialist or anarchist?

I'd call it readable. But I do think mortis should automatically convert text within a certain lightness or darkness to be automatic color

But will it blend?

 

I don't know if he would be able. The color "codes" (I forget what the values themselves are referred to in code) aren't labeled as black = 00000000 while white = FFFFFFFF. At least I don't think they're organized in that manner.

I have released a client side script that fixes dark colours on the night theme (and it should also fix light colours on the day theme actually). The script has been posted in the forum addons & script page. However, the script is destructive - it removes the formatting from the post, so it's not something that I particularly want to move server-side. If there was a way to make the editor remove most formatting on paste by default (but still leave stuff like bullet points and links), that would be ideal, but unfortunately that isn't supported by the forum software (though annoyingly it is supported by the editor, but that interface is not exposed to us).

The hex code for back is #000 (or #000000), and white is #FFF(FFF), but it's some greys that are the problem too, as well as dark blues.
