PIZZA IS AMAZING THEREFORE THIS IS AMAZING

http://www.pizza.be/en/

- This MIGHT be the greatest idea in the history of mankind

- Pizza.ca is being camped right now… I really want this to become a thing

- If i was a tourist I would be so happy this website existed!

Its less to do with specs and more to do with HOW HORRIBLE YOUR HARDWARE IS, GG

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-06-its-less-to-do-with-the-specs-and-more-to-do-with-what-you-do-with-those-specs

- Dead Rising 3: 720p/30fps

- Forza Motorsport 5: 1080p/60fps

- Ryse: Son of Rome: 900p/30fps

- Kinect Sports Rivals: 1080p/30fps

- Driving Simulator One?

- “The load screens isn't a bullet point that any gamers are going to be like 'sweet! No load screens!'”

- Loads of devs saying they’re excited for what they untap in the future which is common with consoles… but this time they’re starting far behind, by the time they catch up to where PC is at on their launch date the race will be over

Old Media transition to new media - talk about history of DottoTech & changes

- The equipment and expense compared to the “old days”

- Difficulty of sponsorship (the more things change the more they stay the same)

- Viewers vs subscribers & fans - different mentality.

Google+ integration with YouTube

-Google+ integration with YouTube - the folks that own the medium exerting their dominance over the creators

- impact on creators

- impact on viewers

- Google’s strategy of basically making “live changes” to their website

Microsoft Chat

- SKYPE - how could you possibly ruin it so much. MSN was great for its time. SKYPE came up out of nowhere and changed the market for VOIP/messaging clients, MS acquired it, and now letting it fall behind

- XBox One - Steve, you’re one of the only people we’ve encountered who is disappointed with MS’s backpedaling on the Xbox One being an “entertainment” device rather than a “gaming device”. Want to hear your thoughts.

R9 290 discussion + TWITTER

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72295-amd-mantle-graphics-api-adopted-by-various-developers/

- Star Citizen, Thief, and upcoming engine

- What bothers me - on AMD we’ll get Mantle, on NVIDIA we’ll get PhysX… Gamers are being forced to decide how they want to experience the game, and there’s no way to get the complete experience. Even putting an NV card AND an AMD card in my system won’t let me unlock everything the game dev built and I PAID for.

CoD: Ghosts Pain Train

http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/call-of-duty-ghosts XBOX 360

Metascore - 74, Userscore 2.1

http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/call-of-duty-ghosts PC

Metascore(unofficial) - 77, Userscore 1.7

http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/call-of-duty-ghosts PS3

Metascore - 75, Userscore 1.8

- I think the world just had a messy breakup wth CoD, I hope Infinity Ward enjoys their bucket of Ice Cream

- PS4 version has a significant number of user reviews, but…. yeah… I think that’s fake...

Microsoft says they lost their way with PC gaming… promises a better future

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/73381-microsoft-on-pc-gaming-%E2%80%9Cwe-lost-our-way%E2%80%9D-promises-a-better-future/

- GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE WILL BE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN JULY 2014, THANK YOU

- I’m sorry but thats all i really cared about in this article

- Blah Blah they lost their way or whatever and now they’re back and developing a bunch of big stuff or something BUT WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS THAT GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE IS GOING TO DIE! HOPEFULLY HORRIBLY

CoD Ghosts Sucks

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72755-and-the-reviews-are-in-cod-ghosts-sucks/

- We should still benchmark it and compare it at 4GB ram and 6GB ram

- Maybe we should title the benchmarking video “The Search For 50GB’s of Data”

- That challenge to GTA V’s sales records is looking a little lame right now…

- Totalbiscuit had a great review on it

Copy + Pasted Cut Scene

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E82ZkHTiVU

- Copied from the ending of Modern Warfare 2

- Could it be argued that they’re being self-referential?

- Either way… C’mon…

- “War Never Changes”

6GB RAM Requirement is Bogus

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72568-hackers-bypass-call-of-duty-ghosts-6-gb-minimum-ram-requirement/

- Artificial hard limit - with 6GB of RAM & some allocated to onboard (Optimus) - can’t play

- Game only appears to use 1.1 - 1.8GB of RAM at any given time...

- Cracked version removes the restriction

- Videos of the game running at Ultra settings with 4GB RAM

DICE not to be Outdone by Infinity Ward’s Terrible PR

EA Pushed BF4 through QA too soon and it shows, Dice trying to fix it

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/73087-ea-pushed-battlefield-4-through-quality-control-to-beat-call-of-duty/

- THANKS EA.

- I have always been a big supporter of “release it when its done” This is why I don’t really mind THAT much that AC is always delayed on PC, they are open with the fact that they make it for consoles first and want to fix bugs before releasing it on PC and honestly I have personally never ran into anything game breaking

- Luckily behind the poo stain that is EA we have Dice, A company that ACTUALLY does seem dedicated to quality and they seem to be trying very hard to fix everything overtime

BF4 & AXE commercial

http://www.destructoid.com/battlefield-4-axe-body-spray-commercial-is-uh-huh--264551.phtml

- What were they thinking?

- For a game that was progressive towards women in gaming AND women in the military teaming up with AXE is just bad form

Battlefield 4 DLC coming hard and heavy

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/71255-bf4-expansion-announced-for-dec-3/

- Making $49.99 look like an awesome value, but you need to remember that you’re basically paying $109.98 for a game because as expansions come out you’ll be left behind.

- Pushing expansions and pushing premium

- To put this in perspective, Beyond the Dark Portal was released 4 months after Tides of Darkness, and Starcraft vs Brood War was 8 months.

- I love Battlefield 4 too guys but this is what we get for paying for it every damn time

- Why would they change their game now? This is the same direction they were going in BF3 and people are abandoning ship from COD in favor for BF

Google engineers speak out about NSA

http://mobile.theverge.com/2013/11/6/5072924/google-engineers-issue-fuck-you-to-nsa-over-surveillance-scandal

- I guess we at least knew that Google was essentially selling our data? The NSA is essentially stealing it from them. I also think Google sold it anonymously and the NSA is obviously not using it anonymously

- Love the LoTR fandom, “like coming home from War with Sauron, destroying the One Ring, only to discover the NSA is on the front porch of the Shire chopping down the Party Tree and outsourcing all the hobbit farmers with half-orcs and whips.”

- Heat is rising… The Germans are starting to show a lot of support from Snowden now and large public figures are starting to speak out

Nvidia Tegra note 7 coming in a big way, Nov. 12th

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72385-nvidia-tegra-note-7-coming-out-november-12th-in-the-us-with-game-streaming/

- 1.8 GHz Tegra 4 processor

- IPS panel, but 1280x800

- $199…..$199!

- Streaming like a Shield, but obv. no physical controller

- HDMI out, like a shield

- Incl. stylus, supports keyboards and controllers via USB

- Slightly cheaper than a Nexus 7

Verge shows off valve sample steam machine, Info about Valve VR

http://www.pcper.com/news/General-Tech/Verge-Valves-Steam-Machine-and-Steam-Controller

- Looks like someone really likes portal

- Noted by PCper that you will never be able to buy one from Valve directly, I previously read closer to launch that you could - this is unfortunate and I really do hope that someone picks up their design as they are releasing their CAD files

- “However, the team hinted to me — strongly — that an unannounced future VR headset might measure your body's reaction to games at the earlobe. Such a device could know when you’re scared or excited, for instance, and adjust the experience to match.”

- Valve making wearable tech? Epic.

- Oculus Rift is amazing… but it isn’t perfect, I’m so excited for the glory years of wearable tech

Humble Bundle Improvements!

http://blog.humblebundle.com/post/66129939468/you-spoke-we-listened

- Humble just got better!

- We totally weren't gifting humble codes already on my livestream, and even though this totally won’t ease my stress about not being given any extra codes anymore I’m still very happy that we can now give these away!

Ultra Haptics… device usage of the future?

http://www.fastcolabs.com/3019621/ultrahaptics-may-be-the-next-revolution-in-touchscreen-phones

http://youtu.be/2QkbVr4J7CM?t=25s

- Uses acoustic radiation to provide haptic feedback without you touching the device

- called UltraHaptics, uses an array of ultrasonic transducers to generate a complex set of sound waves.

- When enough ultrasound waves are focused on a point above, say, a tablet's surface they can generate a definite sensation in a human fingertip thanks to the high sensitivity of the nervous system…. Bassline anyone?

- This would have the ability to transmit haptic data to you remotely and without the screen being on, even just for simple things like an alarm clock this could be epic

RapidFire Stories

Someone actually still cares about iPhone 2g

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72355-iphone-2g-now-a-collectors-item/

- This is uh… Kinda insane…

- I guess if you’re a collector you’re a collector, if you had all the more recent iPhones in box and sealed you may just want to complete the series, im sure there isn’t many out there

- We’re all scoffing at this, including myself, But I buy old games for NES and SNES and stuff despite being able to play them on an emulator… collectors are collectors and we’re all kindof insane

Bill gates wants Malaria medication not internet services

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72178-bill-gates-internet-connectivity-doesn%E2%80%99t-mean-much-of-you%E2%80%99re-dying-of-starvation/

- While i don’t disagree with Gates I wonder where the limits of this point are? Is this the same argument moms use to get their kids to eat broccoli?

- I feel like that Taco girl meme, “Why not both?”, Improving the developing nations may not be a single pronged attack, those that don’t have malaria can use the internet to educate themselves and improve the general quality of life around them hopefully leading to less malaria in the years to come

Good Guy AMD replaces computer hit by stray bullet

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/71827-amd-replaces-guys-pc-after-it-was-hit-by-a-stray-bullet-from-an-acidental-discharge/

- Marketingggggggggggggggggggggg

- This has become a trend lately, companies finding people on reddit that are trending with some sort of unfortunate situation that happens to incorporate their product and sending them care packages - Not a bad thing by any means! But definitely for marketing and exposure

- Guy was lucky as hell

- Actually kinda happy they didn't replace the case, looks epic and great for story telling!

LG G Flex curved phone boxes

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72498-lgs-g-flex-actually-flexes-video/

- I’ve seen Galaxy S3 & S4 phones bend that much

- making news out of nothing

- and yet here we are talking about it.

AMD selling Intel servers?

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/71431-amd-in-a-pickle-with-latest-contract-deal/

- AMD acquired Seamicro with big contract wtih Verizon for high density servers to get into cloud market

- ¾ of servers Verizon buys from Seamicro are Intel based

- Kinda hilarious when you think about it but a sale is still a sale and they will still make money...

- They can phase out different models over time

Android Kitkat 4.4 comes with feature-rich photo editor - non destructive

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/71926-android-44-kitkat-comes-with-a-deep-non-destructive-photo-editor-video/

- I admittedly don’t know much about photo editing but having it be non-destructive is pretty awesome ESPECIALLY because I don’t know much about photo editing!

- Apple may have been the artists platform in previous years but is PC and Android becoming the artists platform of the future?

Steve Jobs’ childhood home now a landmark http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72065-the-house-where-steve-jobs-grew-up-is-now-a-%E2%80%9Chistoric-resource%E2%80%9D/

- Awesome, everyone should go there for an “easter egg hunt” but instead of easter eggs it can be acid tabs..

- They didn’t have to ask Patricia Jobs, the current home owner for permission, and now she may have trouble getting permits if she wants to renovate… LOL

Tag was banned at this school… Which is dumb

http://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-school-bans-kindergarteners-from-touching-each-other-1.1528348

- Tag?

- TAG?

- SERIOUSLY?

- Blamed on playground injuries… getting hurt a few times is part of being a kid! We learn by our mistakes…

- Being too careful with them will only make them unprepared for bad situations, You can’t protect someone forever and I would rather have my kid have a few playground battle wounds from the past but be ready for the future than be unprepared (illidan reference?)

US Supreme court does some not so supremely important work… again

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72809-us-supreme-court-asked-to-define-clothes/

- Basically there is a union fighting that protective wear is not clothing

- And THIS is something that fell on the supreme court

- Can they work on something important on a wide scale for a change?

People suck at passwords

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/72623-the-recent-adobe-hack-reveals-123456-as-password/

- XKCD is amazing, tell your friends : http://xkcd.com/936/

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/73468-test-your-aim-with-a-mouse-benchmark/

- Holy crap this is hard

- I’ve been running 400DPI lately and getting to those targets fast enough is rough… I like 400DPI for CS and stuff but i think id have to crank it a bit for this

Worlds first 3d printed gun

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/73465-worlds-first-3d-printed-metal-gun/

- Not exactly available to everyone with the machine required to do such work costing $500,000 alone

Bestbuy/futureshop lost their minds in Canada

http://business.financialpost.com/2013/11/08/future-shop-offering-new-call-of-duty-assassins-creed-and-battlefield-titles-for-free-with-single-trade-in/?__lsa=ea42-ecae

- Bring in any xbox360 or PS3 game and get CoD, BF4, or AC4 - 1 per customer per day

- Wat.

- I’m gonna jump on this so we can do footage quality comparisons

The PS4 is only a SATA 2 bus. No-one seems to have mentioned this. :S

@LinusTech

Been told for months now. Though good enough to out do a HDD. Here's my point.

Note 1.

I hate (HATE) how linus and slick talk about consoles dissing and hating on them when they know absolutely nothing about them. Average pc gamer there though. Don't talk about consoles if you don't know anything about them.

Note 2.

FFS @Slick Don't hate on something because you don't like it. Not everything is geard towards you. Your hating on the XboxOne so much even though you don't know how it works even after Linus tries to explain it to you. How FAN FUCKING TASTIC is a console that you can say "Xbox TV" or "Xbox Internet" for the average consumer or "Xbox skype, call blank" That is who they were targeting but your so ignorant and closed minded that you don't see that and think they failed so hard.

PC gamer: why would someone buy a console when the PC can do all this stuff like internet and videos and games?

Xbox: Here is a console that does everything a PC can do

PC gamer (slick): wow why would they do that they fucked up.

Seriously @Slick That is what they did. Offer more options and your complaining. PC's can do more than game, So XB1 tries to expand and you shit on it. Don't be so closed minded and learn something about a console before you rip on it.

                                                                                              Sager NP9370EM - I7 3630QM - 680m 1045Mhz - 8gb 1600mhz ram - 240gb msata 750gb hdd
