Well I hope the water cooling is enough to keep it cool. I see 0 fans on the card and no rear exhaust.

This debunks the Fury Nano rumors btw. So, as of now, we can't say if there will be more than one Fiji card.

 

What's cool is that this can be converted to a single-slot card for custom watercooling.

Do people always give 275w nvidia cards a free pass when it comes to criticizing, the 980ti and TX can go over 300w easily under overclocked situations and can be cooled rather easily.

The heat output of HBM will be minimal and the larger die size of the fiji chip will actually help with cooling.

This is one thing people are overlooking when they claim the water cooled Fury will be too expensive at $850. It's right in line with the 980Ti waterblock only cards, but also includes a rad and pump.

 

If the firestrike benchmarks are true and is priced lower than the Titan X. This looks to be a very good card  :)

Stop using logic. We have to believe that this is going to be a 95C spaceheater because reasons. Clearly, the people on this forum know more by looking at the card than AMD's R&D team knows by creating and testing it.

980 ti =/= fury pcb

you can't stick a 980 ti cooler on that pcb, that's why I was suggesting having a longer pcb or cooler to compensate .

I know the fury and 980 ti have same power consumption ...

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

So, basically, you're concerned that the length of the waterblock is somehow going to cause a dramatic increase in temps compared to a longer one, even though there are no memory chops to cool on the PCB?

They very well might use a longer PCB for the air cooled versions. Would allow them to space out the VRMs etc. so the heat isn't being produced in a smaller concentrated area. I was just pointing out that it's not necessarily required to have a longer PCB for air cooling. 

What can you really air cool if you extend the PCB? The HBM is supposed to be pretty much beside the chip, so no VRAM will benefit from the extension. I don't think GPUs have problems with VRMs being close together and overheating (especially when they are rated for extremely high temperatures like 120 degrees or something like that). For air cooling it may make more sense, since you the pipes can take more room than a water cooler.

What can you really air cool if you extend the PCB? The HBM is supposed to be pretty much beside the chip, so no VRAM will benefit from the extension. I don't think GPUs have problems with VRMs being close together and overheating (especially when they are rated for extremely high temperatures like 120 degrees or something like that). For air cooling it may make more sense, since you the pipes can take more room than a water cooler.

I think he's just assuming that:

 

A.) AMD's aiming for 95C again, and

B.) Waterblock surface area makes a significant difference 

 

A is probably wrong, and B is just altogether wrong because a waterblock isn't designed to efficiently radiate heat into the air.

Extending the PCB would do absolutely nothing. Just stop. Waterblocks are made to transfer heat to the WATER, not the air. Please, try to actually know what you're talking about before you start talking.
