Scrapyard Wars Followup Showdown

Slick

Your build has only 4GB of memory, a 160GB HDD, a fire hazard PSU, low quality case, poor cooling, and an inferior platform compared to mine.

Balance is important.

It would be in a normal scenario, in this case it's competing against scrapyard junk that is just as liable to catch on fire ^^ as long as it lives through the testing (which it should) and is the best possible performance ingame the goal is reached.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

What's your opinion on my build? We have pretty similar builds, but Linus/Slick doesn't have access to a Microcenter. Your build has a superior PSU/HDD and the RAM is questionable as you get slightly more performance with dual channel, but less upgradability (You have to replace the ram if you want to increase the amount, since your mobo only has 2 DIMM slots I think.) Plus, your build's price got raised to about $430 at the current moment.

Your build has only 4GB of memory, a 160GB HDD, a fire hazard PSU, low quality case, poor cooling, and an inferior platform compared to mine.

Balance is important.

Guys, chill, it's not even actually a contest.

Even a 70 dollar discrete gpu will destroy your build. Sorry.

To get the best build, just use the cheapest r9 270 and build around it. Simple as that.

I also want to do a build. But I live in Germany.

So 400 $ are right now 350,9020€ (17.02.15)

I think it is an interesting comparison to see, what I would be able to do with the same amount of money here in Germany:

Intel Pentium G3220 - 43,90€ + 6€ = 49,90€

http://www.rabo-networks.de/index.php?page=product&info=2199

ASRock H81M-DGS - 38,06€ + 7,99€ = 46,05€

* http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/ASRock-H81M-DGS-Rev--2-0-Intel-H81-So-1150-Dual-Channel-DDR3-mATX-Retail_949234.html

Crucial DIMM 4GB, DDR3 1600 CL11 - 26,99 + 6,90 = 33,89€

http://www.itmedia24.de/Shop/DE/Product/Details/3886/1170064/false/

Antec New Solution VSK-4000E - 19,89€ + 5,90€ = 25,79€

http://www.future-x.de/antec-new-solution-vsk-4000e-midi-tower-atx-ohne-netzteil-usb-audio-p-66178/?pv=2

be quiet! System Power 7 80+ Bronze - 38,60€ + 0,00 = 38,60€

* http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/400-Watt-be-quiet--System-Power-7-Bulk-Non-Modular-80--Bronze_822193.html

Seagate Momentus Thin 320GB 2,5'' HDD - 36,59 + 2,99 = 39,58€

http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/seagate+momentus+thin+320gb+25+sata+3+gbs?nbb=45c48c

Gigabyte Radeon R7 260X OC 2GDDR5 - 116,28€ + 0,00€ = 116,28€

* http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/2048MB-Gigabyte-Radeon-R7-260X-OC-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_936720.html

350,09 € = 399,52$

* Ordered 3 times from Mindfactory, so had to pay shipping only once. Thats why you can see two times no shipping costs.

This was just an interesting comparison and fun to do. Don't take me into the competition or whatever that is :P

All parts are from NCIX CA which means you needn't pay postage as you can go to your local store. On the motherboard there is a $10 rebate, which without, leaves you at $399.50, so just under budget.
