Samsung Galaxy S6 to (maybe) come with Sennheiser earbuds!

Nineshadow

Back in the day of the original Galaxy S, audiophiles were thrilled with the Wolfson DAC built into the devices. This, along with a mod called Voodoo Sound, allowed the Galaxy S to pump out some seriously high quality audio that blew other Android devices out of the water. It was great to see Samsung focusing on audio quality.

Though the Wolfson DAC is no longer being used, it looks like Samsung wants to continue the trend of excellent audio quality through other means. Rumor has it that the company has partnered with Sennheiser to include a set of its earbuds with the Galaxy S6. Sennheiser has a reputation for high quality audio gear, so audiophiles should be pleased.

It’s unknown if every model will come with Sennheisers or only with a special edition variant, but it sounds like a good partnership. We don’t know how good a pre-packaged set of earphones can really be, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Do you think Samsung should put a big focus on audio quality?

Now this I like loving my Momentum in-ears so far. I assume users will get a pair in the range of the CX 3.0 or CX 5.0.

They should include atleast something like Soundmagic E10's so people could feel the greatness of good sound.

The in ears that came with my s4 were way better than I was expecting. I mean they weren't amazing but they were pretty close to my Sennheiser cx300's. I'm not a bug fan of in ears. I have weird ears and they bother me. So I'm not the greatest judge of inears. I do know good audio though. So the fact that I didn't hate the included in ears was impressive to me.

Still doesn't make up for the abominable TouchWiz + Revolting Plasticky Design pairing.

They could just bring up S6 + momentum in-ear for additional $30 in contract and $60-70 unlocked, throw in some big big advertisement about how sound is important bla3. Viola, sennheiser is one of the beats generation brand only they actually know how to make good shit

Great for them! I'm a happy iPhone 6 Plus user, but it's nice to see someone pick I non-beats type company. I just got a pair of sennheiser momentum over ears and can't stop praising them.

I think you might mean the M8 with harman/kardan. They also did an HTC Sensation with Beats a while back

Definitely the former, I don't consider the latter much of anything.
