Probably for the same reason why you like 90's hip-hop and R&B. 

We all grew up in different enviroments and have different life experiences, all of which shape our cultural taste in different ways.

Liking something and sharing something are two very different things. 

What you see in this thread might not be fully reflective of a persons taste in music, but rather a reflection of what that person wants to share with others. 

Personally, I would find it rather meaningless to share popular or mainstream music just for the sake of it.

I really like No More Tears Left to Cry, for example, but chances are most people have already heard and are aware of it, so sharing it would be redundant.
