I recently got a gigabyte b450m mb but I didn’t get a backplate to mount the stock amd wraith stealth cooler. Is there an alternative way to mount it?

You don’t need a backplate, remove the brackets and screw it in

most motherboards have a backplate or mounting mechanism of some sort so you can just screw it in

What do you mean, AM Sockets have those noses in the front, usually there is no need for a back plate. What cooler are you trying to mount?

Did you buy a used motherboard with the original back plate removed?

Get a different cooler or use copious amounts of zip-ties. I suggest getting a different cooler or posting on a local PC marketplace to see if someone has such a backplate left over

I agree with @minibois , if it's an emergency and you are using the stock cooler, as long as you have the mounting brackets with the noses in the front, you could get away with some rubber washers and self tightening nuts in the back but be VERY careful.

Yea, the zip-ties part wasn't really serious..

But in theory you could just loop the zip ties like this:

Green and blue lines are the zip ties. Green is 'above' the motherboard (CPU side) and blue is the bottom. But I can't imagine that would hold well...

So again, the zip-ties idea isn't serious.

Buy a backplate online or buy a cheaper cooler online or get in touch with the seller of your motherboard to get that backplate.

Did you buy mobo new? Can you post pictures of the issue?

Edit: Also merged the threads. Please do not post multiple times about same issue.
