shrugs Dunno. Been diligent and fast with the jobs given and restarted when it stopped getting jobs for 1-2+hrs and so far today it's been good on my 2 CPU and GPU PCs.  More luck than anything but there's probably some general server improvement thrown in for good measure.

Not the US, or at least not in Kentucky with garbo internet. Yesterday I only got 2 - 2 hour WUs all day long. The rest of the time it was idle, granted I didn't reset the timer diligently so that likely hurt me (My cpu was up to 4 hours at one point >.<)

Hi i'm new on the folding and the forums,

My case is weird : my laptop cpu (i7 4940mx oc) and gpu (firepro m5100 oc) both found a WU, but not my desktop (xeon e3-1240v2 and r9 290 oc). Desktop collection server has for IP 0.0.0.0, which i think is weird. (btw i'm running a local server through npm, but i don't think that it's the issue).

Even my old 2003 laptop (p4 3.06ghz) found a WU ! so probably not a lack of available WUs

 

does anybody has a fix for that ?

I have to say, I love this whole thing and you guys here in the topic.

It's been quite a while that I've been doing something that's combining IT, socializing and doing something good for the world at the same time AND I am having fun doing it! ❤️

To be honest, this event has brought me back to the LTT forums, I haven't been here in ages, maybe I will use this opportunity to become more active again =D

That means you haven't connected to a server yet, likely due to server having no available ports atm (F@H is used to servicing 30k users around the world. For perspective, just our team has more than 30k active users at this moment.)

 

Be patient, it could take a couple of hours to connect and then even longer to get served a WU. It is frustrating, but F@H is working hard to get more servers spooled up, as well as our patron god Linus, the master of dropping things.

 

Edit: Also try what GOTSpectrum said (Reboot the client [You'll have to kill it in task manager]) For me it sometimes worked but patience always ended with me getting a WU at some point (granted I also game a lot so I can pass multiple hours in the blink of an eye.)

Try rebooting your pc it has helped me in the start

 

both my laptop and my desktop I rebooted before the long haul

My wifes PC is working like a champ, but mine has been sitting all day waiting for work...I'm not familiar enough with the F@H software to know how to tweak it...is this normal right now?

It is normal that an GTX 1050TI and a 4c/4t intel i5 kaby lake to get 200000 ppd.

With 400k+ contributors up from 30k, yeah. You're likely to have one machine/component have a WU(s) while another is starved and vice versa. Maybe try rebooting the client on the starved one

I have a Ryzen 5 6c/12t/RX 5700 (nothing at all special) and it shows over 900000 ppd...I'd say don't go by what it tells you until your stats show up. LOL

Can anybody tell me why the folding only hits my cpu for 50%, when i set it to "full"? 

Edit: Its an R7-3700x if its relevant.

I thought, by default it uses all threads but 1?...At least that's what it tried to use on both of my PC's.

 

I'd change it to use 15t (if) you have sufficient cooling and want it to be maxed out.
