I'm planning to build a PC for my friend for as cheap as possible and I just want to ask is the M-ATX version of ASUS's B450 TUF Pro and Asrock's B450 Pro4 the same as the ones that listed here? Thanks.

Nah just make sure you did check the list. It is at tier D as it shares the upper half of the board with the ATX version.

Does anyone know if there is a way to stop the chipset fan on X570 taichi board with its current latest bios? Like to set up a curve in a way it's not spinning until necessary?

I see that many boards have that option.

I do not have the board, but it is on my radar.

its a pretty good budget board with 4 phases should be enough for a 6 core (an 8 core would be a push but still possible )

So if its not one with Ryzen 3000 ready out of box would you buy a 2600 along it or hell no?

it depends on the stock 

if the stock is new it most likely  ships with zen 2 ready bios 

we cant know for sure

Gonna visit the store this weekend, if they are not I am considering buying the 2600 which is cheaper but considering it can be from 10-30% worse depending on task I am not sure price difrence is worth it... X-X

get a 1600 af

if you can just ask the store to update the bios for you 

they might do it for free or they might charge  10 bucks at worst 

the better ipc and imc (if your only gaming ) will be worth going zen 2 

and the way better fpu ( if you do heavy work loads ) also makes zen 2 compelling

I am not sure but I think i can save 1-2k by shoping there more or less depending on part choices, option A wait for ASUS TUF B550M WIFI board and 3600 to be in stock on the other shop, then I can buy the fancy 2666MHz ECC RAM or go there save a few K but maybe have to settle for the 2600 at worst but then settle for older ASRock B450 Pro4 board and 3200MHz RAM kit...

Hello,

I want to build 2 Pc's, 1 for me and 1 for my brother with same specs.

We are tight on budget so we are looking for a "cheap" motherboard, but also not a garbage one.

Other parts we will use,
Ryzen 5 1600 AF
16 GB (2x8) 3200x16 DDR4 Ram
1 M.2. NVMe SSD
RX 580 8 GB GPU.

We live in The Netherlands and this site shows all boards available and there prices.
Could someone tell us what would be a good value board to get.

With A320 Boards.

Without A320 Boards.

 

We don't really want/need to OC except use XMP on the RAM,
And it will also be a single use build. (Maybe upgrade GPU) then sell and build new Pc with maybe AM5? and DDR5 memory.

Asrock A320m pro4-f is the cheapest, but I will tell anyone looking to buy used stuff to prioritize B chipset boards for overclocking so this does come at a cost when you're trying to sell it. This means the Gigabyte B450M S2H is the best

Ok, so they both would fit my needs, but the A320m pro4-f will lose more value when selling the pc + i can't overlcock at all.

I checked the Gigabyte B450M S2H and it got all we need, just 1 question.
it only have 1 fan header, if I have 3 fans in front and 1 in back, can I all connect them to that 1 header?

Or should I go for a board with 2 fan headers, if yes, what board would then be the best option?

It has 2 fan headers, CPU fan and system fan. Each can handle 1 amp of current output at 12v so just make sure those sharing the same header dont add up to over 1A

The case comes with a controller that controls ARGB light effects for you. You dont have to hse a board with ARGB support

 

And going for a board with ARGB support means breaking the budget.

I just noticed the B550 boards being available here in the Netherlands with price starting at €99.

Do you know if they are alot better than the other boards you suggested?

Otherwise I'll just save some money and go for B550 (€99) + 3600 (€155) instead of B450 (€61) + 1600 AF (€110)
