If you want something to heat with just grab a 7950 or two. Not too bad(okay its bad) points for the stupid cheap price.

Turned off the fans last night. Even closed the window to make the noise less. My ears blessed me, the system was previously on constant 60db from my gaming chair

Congrats to the winners. And huge respect to everyone who participated, this was a great month!

Farewell, my free credits...

I actually went a bit over officially,

stupid google cloud billing charging me $10 - first the page said I had used $290 of free credits, then I refresh and it tells me I used $305, and then when I uncheck free credit (to hide it from the billing summary), it tells me I owe $10, so: $305 - $300 free credit = $10 ?‍♂️

but whatever, it's worth it, because SCIENCE.

As of now, my production dropped to 0, but once I fix my rig I'll have it folding year-round. It's barely anything compared to the servers, but it's something.

 

But what about my 4m ppd average? Sigh.

Going to let these last few WUs finish overnight and then call it quits for now.

I'll probably do this on/off, too, but the noise, heat, and power draw kind of makes it not worth it to do this indefinitely. Sorry!

 

Anyway, the RX 580 and GTX 1070 did fairly well, despite getting smashed hard by 14180 and friends basically every other day. The i7-6700K worked well, too. Unfortunately, the Ryzen 5 2600 hit 94.6°C (it's rated for 95°C), so it could only, at best, run slightly above the boost speed. I never got around to installing a new cooler for it, either.

If/when I do folding, I probably won't do CPU folding until next folding month since the extra 10-12% or so PPD just isn't worth the power draw.

The heat is great for winter, especially if your PC is in a room that is usually occupied, can help maintain temps after the heating is off. I have my server in the living room and my PC in my bedroom, heating on for an hour in the morning and it maintains till later evening.

Can you access it though the web interface from chrome. I have had this program loads. Pande really need to update the God damn client!

Nope, the webcontrol just keeps reloading.. weird how this happens the day after folding month... I smell conspiracy haha

Yeah, chrome has this issue anyway, if you really don't want to use the others you can use incognito mode instead btw.

well.. that does not solve the issue why my F@H client stopped folding/doesn't want to connect anymore.. Really wonder what happened there. Hope it fixes itself :( 

 

If I have to ill just use edge for folding :)

Have you deleted any slots or removed gfx card? Check the config file

Nope, all I did is set folding to ‘light’ - to give my GPU a breather for a few days. I then rebooted the software, and went to bed. I was greeted with that screen I shared above

Try deleting your config file and setting it up again

it should be in your C:\Users\"whatever your account is"\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient

For these F@H event badges, what are requirements? Newbie is one event, but what about Veteran and Fanatic?
