my schools pc (massive overkill)

aidenrelkoff

It is not over kill, they are just making sure that students have sufficient power for what ever they are studying.

  • 2 weeks later...

DAFUQ?? I only got Core i3-2330s in each system, running at a blistering 200F and severely underclocked to 1.6 GHz. No discrete graphics whatsoever, paired with a crappy 19 inch acer monitor. Glad that they are almost silent and are not OEM brands (yuck :P dell is the worst).

ikr

no, we make video games xD there is accually a course that you can take to do that... no joke

Open a cmd and run this command:"userpasswords2" at my old school we had the same thing, the only thing we could get access to in the control panle was "display" if you go there you can make your self admin xD i did so i could hack into the network and unlock everything on the pc xD

Most of the computers in my school are 2.8GHz Core 2 Duos running on the Intel graphics. (I forget how much RAM. 4GB I think.) They can run Halo 1 okay. (Someone hid Halo in the student shared drive so everyone can play it.) It runs MC at tolerable FPS on low with Optifine. They all have 1280x1024 screens. There are probably 150-300 of these things in my school alone. (The district uses these in all the schools.)

Then there's the computers in my Applied Electronics classroom. Core I7s with Quadro graphics. (Forget the rest.) And big Dell 1080p screens. They can play Halo at max settings and fullscreen. (MC runs good too.)

Then they have a few laptop carts that are mainly for the English classrooms. They're different models of HP laptops and I haven't (yet) used one of them but they are loud. Intel I5s. The worst part is that they ALL run at like 1024x768 or something when the screens are (Just a guess) 1336x768. It looks awful. Because of restricted privileges I can't change anything in the control panel. (I can open task manager which is nice.)

I actually found a laptop that was running full resolution and it looked glorious except it wouldn't connect to the server so I couldn't log on. Oh yeah, they all have those pointing sticks which I prefer over touchpads but most of them were taken off by kids. (My first laptop had just a pointing stick, no trackpad which is why I use it so much on my current laptop.)

Ehm our school computers has sh*t specs but it doesn't matter cuz it runs remote desktop and the server is like 10km away and the internet runs on a copper cable D:

Some computers even have i3 and i5, That doesn't make a difference :C

Pretty beast :D

(Though all the PCs that we practice/do work on are pentium 4, core 2 duo or i3 Dells)
