are evga 80+ 600w alright for older systems? I know it says don't even bother but they're the only name brand i could find for cheap

it's possible, but I'd recommend better.

so, Seasonic Ultra Titanium above 750W is an A-grade PSU? well that's mind blowing

doesn't meet multi-rail for a+ and higher, so it makes sense

Not sure if it's the old RM (I think 2012 model?) or the new ones, that's why I'm asking

Yeah the old models (RMx) seem to be mixed between A+ and A but the new models I believe are included as the RM listing in A tier

There are Aris reviews for all three of the new RM power supplies, so go ahead and read them to know how good they are. There's no need for any theorizing based on specifications or feelings, we've got the real thing tested there!

why not? "S" is always above "A", and there should also be SS & SSS

okay, I assume any brand not listed is considered explosives like "GTR"

I don't ss should ever be a ranking list not ever again

I apologise if this was asked before, but I was wondering why has the ASUS ROG Thor descended from S to A?

Because if you look at the product specifications, it says this:

+12V Rails
Single

The Riotoro Onyx is listed under both Tier A and Tier B, is that meant to divide up the different wattage units?

A bit hard to tell, without knowing how long you've had your PSU, what you're powering, and what the prices are, don't you think?
