WRONG. 8gb will soon be to little ram to get a seamless gaming experience imo, get a single 8gb stick now and bump it up to 16gb later. 

1) it will vary but yeah thats fine, the game is going to be high end when it comes out and its not even remotely done yet

2) the graphics settings dont do much yet they are mostly focusing on content

3) hit the tilde key (the little ` above your tab button) when in game and type in. r_motionblur = 0

bonus: if you want to get rid of vsync because its more of a nuisance type in: r_vsync = 0
 

This is going to be in CAD AND including tax.
 
I would never pay over:
 
400 for a cpu
150 a cpu cooler
250 for a motherboard
150 for ram (16gb)
300 for a large ssd
60 for a hard drive 
Graphics cards are wild
250 for a case
130 for a psu
500 for a monitor
200 for a keyboard
100 for a mouse
100 for a headset
 

but.. why?
 
inches are probably the least valuable metric about a monitor.
some other metrics that *do* matter however:
- resolution
- refresh rate
- the vareous aspects of image quality (colors, response time, etc.)
- pixel density (this one pretty much decides how far from the display you ideally are)
 
and that said, 21 inch 1080p is about as bog standard as a display can be, and IMO still the best pixel density for having the display more or less an arm length away.

Pentium g4560 will be more than enough and is pretty cheap.

I mean, it will work. not as well as the one with hyperthreading, but general tasks is what pentiums were built for.

Did  you actually do any research on the game before getting it? Because the game is not remotely finished.

It's just black, the acer logo doesn't come up or anything (its an acer g257hu). The power light comes on though.

I checked with multiple cables and, vga and hdmi, I can check again but I am fairly sure its a problem with the display itself.

So my 1440p monitor stopped displaying anything a little while ago. It still turns on but there is a just a black screen.
basically I was just hoping someone could give me an idea if something like that is repairable and how much it would cost (in CAD)
to take to a computer shop or something, because I really don't want to spend the money on a new monitor right now, and if I can salvage this one

Normally I would say give them the benefit of the doubt. Technical problems happen. But I've been watching them for like 3 years now and the wan show almost always has issues. My friends and I stream off our own computers and basically have zero issues doing it. I don't understand how they can be unprepared every week. It's surreal.

Everyone else covered it pretty well, but just as an added thought: consider grabbing a gtx 1050. They are very cheap and have excellent performance

My current setup has the Fx6300 and the 1060, and I cant recommend that cpu with the 1060 because it is a bottle neck on cpu intesive games like GTA V and Metro series. So for now FX6300 is worth it with your 950, but if you plan to upgrade the gpu soon, I wouldn't suggest the 6300, i would go with at least the fx8350 if you want the am3+ socket

I am not sure what tax in your region is like but I tried to get it as close to including proper tax as possible.
This will give you a decent cpu and a budget board that is still overclockable so you have some headroom

And absolutely, that cpu will outperform pretty much any FX cpu by 20% or more

I have an APU (1.5years old) and a rx 480.  Overclock puts me bare minimum.  Hope zen is good if it isn't AMD has lost my CPU vote and I'm going intel next summer.
