SatansHollow reacted to SpaceNugget in Installing fan on router
if you are saying that the power supply for the router is rated at 700ma then no it will not work. the power supply will most likely not be able to handle a fan and the router. most old little 12v adapters are linear, so it has a transformer and a rectifier and some caps. if you draw too much current the caps wont be able to smooth out the rectified dc wave and your router will meet a swift death. And thats assuming that the transformer doesnt just short out as the windings get hot and the thin coating on the windings starts to melt. Get a cheapo phone charger, 5v will start many fans and at least keep them spinning if you give them a flick. and as a bonus they will be very quiet.

Whoa, I like your profile pic.
SingularityPC's probably makes my favorite builds.

SatansHollow reacted to airdeano in Buying the right gear, I've asked EK and Frozen cpu no help. Need advice.
i don't understand the question..
are you looking to crossfire two cards? only reason asking is the terminal bridge
is used to join two GPUs. your block cannot use a terminal bridge as the connection
is built onto the block.
or just looking to go hardline tubing and needing GPU connection?

SatansHollow reacted to W-L in Thermal Paste help!
That's a fair bit of paste on the secon on with the gain of rice method but also I notice that you have an older removable CPU, and that heatsink uses the metal edge to do the heat transfer which isn't the most ideal. It's probab;t the fact that it's an older CPU and not the best designed cooler that's causing such high temps but what was your temps before doing any work on it.

SatansHollow reacted to Altecice in Titan x
not even a Titan X can power the latest games on 4K (max settings). Stick to 1440p if you want better visuals over more pixels.
Personally I dont like 4K, its has alot of teething problems that dont seem to be getting fixed. For example UI and text scaling (being too small).

I agree with this. Users should be allowed to choose.

SatansHollow reacted to EK Luc in [Help] How do you go about connecting two GPU waterblocks together?
Ok so with this motherboard,
You would need a triple bridge with a blank for the middle space.
Here's what you would need. I will show you the parallel and the serial options. I prefer parallel but it's very very personnal.
Parallel :

SatansHollow reacted to Ghost in Thermoelectric/Peltier cooling.
Why would you want antifreeze in your coolant? The peltier will be between your CPU and block. The block and coolant will get very hot.
If you plan to cool down the coolant (although I don't see why you would, then don't forget about freezing o-rings, the min operating temp of your pump and condensation gathering on all your tubing, blocks and pump.

The Xbox One sucks anyway and the whole point of a console is to play games.

Opps, yup.
Didn't pay much attention to the name and knew indigo was the best perfomer that I know of so I went with that.

Same as what happened with the PS4 guys, hundreds of thousands to millions of these are going to be sold tonight/picked up. They, just like every other piece of tech, have an inherent failure rate. QC can't catch everything.

SatansHollow got a reaction from Rekhyt in Thermoelectric Cooling Theory/Question
Sorry You cant cheat physics. The peltier sandwich is not a new idea running a system with a otherwise normal cpu only loop and a peltier between the water block an cpu was a thing. It was found the system needed more radiator for the same noise level as you are dissipating the CPU + peltier

SatansHollow reacted to rhyseyness in Thermoelectric Cooling Theory/Question
You're still only effectively using one rad's worth of cooling, because you're trying to cool the peltier.
The heat is still all there, you're just moving it.
Sorry, but you can't change the laws of physics
I'd love to see it though... maybe get the peltier outside of the case and cool it externally somehow? However this kind of uses more space then 2/3 rads
