In short
Only you can prevent house fires. Cheap PSUs often have poor ripple suppression, killing hard drives and GPUs. They often have terrible warranties. Just don't buy one.

Motherboards- MSI Makes wonderful motherboards...
Power Supplies- LOL XFX? Wow they make or rebrand some of the most reliable power supplies from SeaSonic. Delta also makes some of the HIGHEST grade power supplies...
GPU- Once again MSI has some wonderful choices. Sapphire has some of the best coolers for AMD cards. Galaxy has some very amazing GPUs also... Zotac also makes some amazing coolers also..
SSD- OCZ isn't all bad...
Cases- Agree w/ them all
As for the AMD CPUs... I agree but NEVER is a harsh word. Especially with Zen around the corner. Never know what could happen.
Ram- RAM IS RAM ALL that ram will perform just the same as some high quality Kingston Savage ram...

not if your playing cpu intasive games, if you spend 100$ extra you could get a xeon, an i7 without overclocking and it would clean the floor with the pentium

Since Linus is a big fan of StrawPoll on the WAN show, I figured he'd be interested in what the forums had to say about their builds.
 
Perhaps they could have a thread or poll on the next build that would factor in our votes? I'm sure they've discussed it before, but I think that'd be a great way to interact with the community.

There was a pack of six coyotes in the woods on my property. About 300 meters from my house. They get to our barn, and they slaughter our chickens, take down our cattle, and probably kill our foals and horses. So a gun is needed. You will NOT stop a pack of coyotes from attacking, using only your bare hands or any sort of melee weapon. You'll probably die.
