Jokes aside, the drive does seem to have a problem. Do the tests again on a different computer with a different cable just to exclude these factors as the potential causes of the issue and if the drive is still under warranty feel free to contact our support and proceed with the RMA. 
 
But before doing anything make sure you have solid backups of the valuable data inside the drive.

Hey, good to know! I'm happy you managed to save your data. Check if the cable didn't have any tension on the drive from the cable that might have caused this in order to prevent such things from happening in the future.

Well it runs very smooth, even in 2x and 3x, but sometimes if you change into 3x it has to think a short moment. After that it runs smooth aswell.
In 1x speed it will run very smooth, do not worry. The i5-4690 is the second highest i5 in Intels Haswell lineup only topped by the 4690K.

yes. its a very CPU based game so you will absolutely see an increase in performance  

IF you can only afford one, GET THE 1TB HDD! 128 GB is not suitable for your main system.

windows 10 or 8.1 i guess, I am not sure how the iGPU will handle them but give it a try

as a side note this would be an amazing time to try out light linux distros like lubuntu :D, I know that is not what you are necessarily asking but I am positive it would perform much better

I've downloaded both programs. Checking the S.M.A.R.T Attribute Chart, it seems that the drive has a problem with "Current Pending Sector Count" and "Uncorrectable Sector Count". 

Alright, I'm gonna download CrystalDiskInfo to see if it's actually real or not.

The HTPC has a SeaSonic 500W 80+ Bronze OEM PSU which should be more than sufficient, and I don't really mind the power consumption. Marking as solved. Thanks guys!

I'm currently building a budget PC for my friend. I heard that Cities: Skylines and GTA 5 are CPU-heavy games. He says it's okay if the PC can't play these game at max settings.

260 should handle V on Normal with ease.

In my country difference between 260x and 370 is around 40 dollars so if situation is the same there you can wait a bit and get that if its an option. All depends on what resolution you are playing and level of details. If you are trying to do 1080p with 260x it is possible but that wont last long. For 1600 x 900 it should be fine. Also, if you can find a good deal on 7850 somewhere you should look at that.

i would suggest a Athlon 860k + a R7 260X. That would be a beast of a combination to a low price
If you are looking for an APU get the 7870k, it is basically a 7850k, but the AMD factory has overclocked it, so it will run games simply better.
As for RAM, for an APU (7850k or 7870k) you need HIGH SPEED. so ideally 2400MHz RAM, but some APUs, especially 7850k, have weak memory controllers and refuse to run 2400MHz, instead they run at the factory rated 2133MHz. Running 2133 instead of 2400 would cause you to lose a few FPS. Not a big amount, but a few FPS.
I would also like to remind the intel fanboys that you CAN overclock the APU, if you get it right, you can push the CPU from 3.7GHz to 4.7GHz and the GPU from 720MHz to 1050MHz, which would essentially get the APU close to the stock R7 260, albeit not completely close.

just get the 2 960's sell one and get an ssd, you will even have money left over.

FX-4300 > 740K (dual core is just useless...)
