The S was a bit that way.  It’s not the only model they make though.  The cars are only slightly more expensive than gas cars but are cheaper to run so the prices is about the same.  It’s sort of like paying for your gas up front.  Most of the price of the car is batteries, and battery prices are coming down.

This statement I agree with fully.
This video goes into some detail on why it is so fun to watch:
I mean, at some point it does get kinda boring, since watching the millionth Fox vs. Fox game can get a bit boring, but at higher levels - when even the different Foxes have a different playstyle - it does get really awesome!

There is an option to use either the original sounds or remastered sounds.
And they have remastered the music also.

To be fair, and also being appreciative of the feat Tesla has achieved - rich people will basically throw away their money at anything! Musk and Tesla were able to hit a nerve so hard, now their cars have a 11 months waiting period (the demand is that high). However, it is the working class, the everyday commuter, the mileage expert - who really needs to move to a battery operated car, and not some rich billionaire/ politician.

Couldn't agree more! E3 has lost its soul somewhere down the line. It's now just a wankfest for AAA companies to show-off a game years before it would finally be released - as if that is going to keep the hype in this day and age.

I think showcases like E3 tend to be better remote viewing experiences, rather than live conventions. This is a chance for the organizers to really offer a huge change-up in the right direction.

This is the need of the hour right now. Tesla might only be the stepping stone in this regard - there might spring up further companies, which offer more affordable EC's in the future - some, might even offer self-driving capabilities. I agree that we havent been able to engineer AI to be that efficient, but really - think of the possibilities!

One of the best aspects I really liked about Halo back in the day was the modding capability. I'm happy to see it being expanded further with this release. I might actually pick this one up, the price seems very palatable as well.

I'm not a fan of homework. If you're stuck home, you're stuck to rest, not study. I approve of nearly taking it down. DEMOCRACY!!!

Also, what kind of authoritarians would assign homework during a f#cking plague! Oh, China... Of course.

Probably the same kind that says Studying is their favorite hobby.

I think electric cars are a required stepping stone to public transit and they will buy buy badly needed time.  In the end suburbs are going to have to drastically change the way they work.  Electric cars are less unsustainable than petrol cars and they get the West in general out from under the heel of the oil producing countries, but they’re not without long term problems.

Public transit existed way before electric cars did. Also, subsidies for electric cars are taking away funds from public transport.

Only 2 cases so far in the entire state and those two have been quarantined straight away. Also one is in the middle of nowhere with a super small population of people.

Engineer.AI reacted to Donut417 in Canadian Government threatens the "Big 3" cellular provider to cut their prices by 25% ... Or else!
They can. The government can manipulate the prices as they need. The US government has done it in the past with oil. We have a national reserve. When OPEC decides to be pricks, sometimes we tap in to that reserve to lower prices. The government can also deterim that the market is wrong. The Government MAKES THE RULES. They just have to pass a law and the telecoms have to legally follow it. Just like the Net Neutrality laws many US states have. ISP's have to follow the law within those boards, or else suffer the consquences.

Here in the states many local governments across the country do. Ever heard of Municipal broadband? Guess what..... Its fucking cheaper. Holy shit. Legally the government cant make a profit, so they only bring enough in to pay employees and buildout/ maintain the network. The only reason this process is not everywhere is because telecoms have paid state government officals to make laws aginst this practice. The same telecoms that want to rape your wallet each month.

I'm guessing you haven't been following the progress of this for the past two years like many other Halo fans. This release was in no way a surprise. They're releasing them as they get completed, and doing them in chronological order. Reach was the hardest one to port, but they said it should go much faster now. The rest will (probably) all be done this year. One of the things I really respect about 343 is that they've actually been working together with the modding community to implement unofficial patches for the originals, which is a matter of swallowing your pride, and something many developers (*cough*Bethesda*cough*) refuse to do.

My only real gripe is that going over 60fps isn't possible right now. While being stuck at 60 definitely isn't a terrible experience, I've gotten used to 144, and it's annoying seeing my GPU and CPU usage not breaking 30%.

As a fellow scientist, I greatly appreciate your value for the details.  However, if we called it SARS-COV2, the general public will think that the old SARS virus is back, which sends the wrong message.

uhh... the Halo 1 AE is completely redone from the ground up, as well as Halo 2.

You can. That's the entire point. They have a dedicated in game toggle button to swap between new and old. Granted, the "new" is from the 360, but Halo 2 looks pretty good, that's more current gen.

I have Halo 2 up and running just fine. Granted, the multiplayer number is pretty pathetic so hopefully the MCC will bring more players.

I think it's decent in general, but the flood design they went with was not as good. But hey, with open mod support I'm sure someone can fix it.

    That's probably because it's not today's standards.

It's a hell of a lot more than that. Besides the online game play, it's got massively improved visuals. Here are some screenshot I took. I tried to line them up exactly, but it's not perfect.

The textures and lighting are vastly improved. You can use wide-screen without it just zooming in the image. 60fps is possible instead of being capped at 30 (and they're working on adding support for higher framerates). And finally, they actually added subtitles to the game and fixed the audio balance issues! It was damn near impossible to hear what they were saying in the original.

This is....untimely. Why not remake and re-release it, boasting a new engine, and creating something similar (but different) from the ground up? Oh wait...I know! Because newer Halo titles just dont sell as well as they used to.

In my opinion, this is just poisoning us with nostalgia. I however, don't really mind it. Just dont give us that "Anniversary Remake" BS, say it like it really is - an up-res of a 17 year old game.
