Didn't know if this was the right place to post this. But this is my first attempt at a "Desk PC".
Asus Sabertooth Z170S
Intel i7 6700k OC'd to 4.7ghz
EK Watercooling parts for the processor (Graphics card plans on being watercooled with next upgrade)
EVGA GTX 770
16gb Corsair Vengeance RAM
Samsung 840 EVO pro at 256gb hard drive(OS) (plus 1 addition intel SSD and 3 HDDs)
Using Razer HDK Chroma lighting sync'd up through Synapse 3.0 (keyboard/mouse/light strips/headset stand+headset)
Let me know what you guys think.

This is my flex. It's a shabby old core duo laptop which I bought for five bucks from the tip, and I got the controller for four dollars from a pawn shop. It's all just hot glue and time spent filing things into the right shape.
You've seen Guitar Hero on PC, but have you seen PC on Guitar Hero?

Gekido reacted to Freakwise in RTX 2070 Super mounting holes question
The oem cooler seems enough, and replacing it would probably make the thermal worse since gpu is not only the part that's get cooled
Most aftermarket cooler rely on small heatsink for vrm and ram than ethier full cover copper plate and sometimes direct heatsink contact on most of tge gpu oem cooler

Gekido reacted to Gmac in Water Cooling 101 - A good place for newbies to start
Where to start
Now that you have an understanding behind the theories of Water cooling. This is a good place to really start understanding what is in Custom water cooling loops. But more importantly how do you get one built. My guide here should only be half the story of building a loop. I won't go into detail about the finite processes of putting together a loop. Linus has already done a great job of really showing you how that process works; far better than I could in a forum post. I will hopefully be able to help when it comes to picking out the right components that go into a water cooling loop. Please check out his 4 part guide on Water cooling. This should be what you refer to when you are actually putting a loop together. These Guides are much better at showing how things fit together then I could even type out.

Gekido reacted to CommanderAlex in Resizable BAR update MSI mainboard, what to consider?
Thanks to NVIDIA for not releasing Resizable Bar support for RTX 20 series cards, I would not bother with updating the BIOS on the motherboard as it's most likely a Beta BIOS and there can be issues related to Beta BIOS's. I don't find it to be worth while with your current GPU.

Gekido reacted to Blue4130 in Is this transfer speed correct?
100 megabytes is 800 megabit. Not too bad.
-
Gekido reacted to hirushaadi in Is this transfer speed correct?
getting that speeds with a gigabit netwrok is fine... do it for one large file and see for it to go above 105MBps.. if it does, its fine..
even though your wire is CAT6, ur nas only supports 1Gbps
or maybe the NIC in your pc is the bottleneck here...
when copying many fines, thats fine, if it happens when copying one large file, its not fine
-
Gekido reacted to thelittleidot in Is this transfer speed correct?
I think this is just a good ol network and cpu bottleneck, everything else looks fine. There is no way to get around this I don't think, so you will probably have to wait around an hour, I ended up waiting 6 for my 600 GB. No issues with it.

Gekido reacted to Schmo in Opinions: Overkill or Ample (or both)
I have a Corsair Obsidian 1000D case.
I have two builds in there currently;
ATX Primary System
i9 10900k OC'd EK Water Block
6900XT OC'd EK Water Block
240 EK CoolStream SE + 4x Corsair ML120 (push/pull)
420 EK CoolStream SE + 6x Corsair ML140 (push/pull)
and
ITX Secondary System
i7 7700k OC'd EK Water Block
1080 TI OC'd EK Water Block
420 EK CoolStream SE + 6x Corsair ML140 (push/pull)
I want to run both builds overclocked (nothing crazy, just a stable OC) while keeping the fan rpm's low and quiet. Question is, what sort of temps am I likely to get? I've got all the parts but have yet to assemble the loop. I appreciate that the primary build has more than enough cooling, its more for aesthetics than practicality.

Thank's a bunch for this feedback on coolants and on the petg / acrylic tubing and yeah I got that from jayz2cents he is one of the many youtubers I watch to learn from so very good observation there. Anyhow I do appreciate the information and will keep posted on with what I end up going with. The acrylic does make much more sense if it has the resistance. Maybe I will just buy both and see which I like more and send the other back who know's! lol. Thank's again.

I am also on China telecom (in Beijing) and can confirm that it's real optic fiber.

Gekido got a reaction from Slayerking92 in Is it really optic fiber internet?
Hi everyone,
I have a question here. we recently bought a new apartment here in China and completely renovated it. The walls were renewed aswell as electricity wiring and stuff. So as a tech guy I wanted to have LAN port in every room and choose CAT6 because here it's the same price as CAT5. Now we have a 500mbps. internet connection. As the cable goes into the wall towards outside and can really tell what it is I have to guess. from China Telecom and the engineer connected the incoming line with our new modem. Eventually only thing left was a blue optic connector to be plugged into the modem. My question is here: as I saw him working with a regular RJ45 cable which he used for the blue connector, does this mean it's just rj45 converting into optic fibre or am I just simply seeing ghosts?
Result was 439mbps speedtest

Gekido reacted to RTX 3090 in My first Fake graphics card, anyone had this aswell?
@GekidoPlease do send a link, I might get one and just put a real BIOS on the 1030, costs £50 for GPU alone

Gekido reacted to Skiiwee29 in My first Fake graphics card, anyone had this aswell?
Seems to be a legit SKU according to Tech PowerUp...
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gt-1030-gk107.c3454
Sounds like it had a BIOS hack/flash to report as a 1050 from wherever the scraped the card up from to put it in the machine.
-
Gekido reacted to porina in My first Fake graphics card, anyone had this aswell?
I had to look it up as that sounded too old, the 1030 was actually from 2017.
I'm wondering, if the seller was intentionally using the fakes or if they were genuinely fooled by fakes also. Good that they agreed to correct this situation.
The only card I have that is questionable is a cheap NVS300 I got off ebay. GPU-Z detects it as a fake, but who would fake an ancient low end pro card? There is little official information available for the GPU so I have to wonder if in my case it is a false positive. My sample didn't match GPU-Z's sample and thus was flagged.

Greetings to all awesome LTT fans around the world, I am from China and a member here for some months. Of course I watch LTT every day and was wondering when it will be possible to pay with Alipay or Wechat Wallet, as I really want to buy some merch from the LTT store.... Hopefully Linus or other LTT techgods can respond on this.
Crossing my fingers here....
